I've used a laptop webcam, but that count fits on 1 hand. My cheapo logitech USB webcam that I got over half a decade ago for like $20(and came with a headset) is better than the ones on my tablets & gaming laptop. Notches are great on smartphones if done properly (and mostly they are) because they take up the middle of notification area and nothing else. Most are also longer/wider than 16:9 (e.g. 18.5:9), which means that the notch doesn't block standard videos either. But, hey, it's okay to be bitter and salty about any change in the industry, let me also put my tinfoil hat on!

Only 24Gb RAM.. protecting their higher products.. if it was offering RAM up to 32Gb or even 64Gb that would have been great and would have definitly get me purchasing it (for professional production work under Premiere and Adter effect on the go). Am I not getting a joke here? Because it's a benchmark. If you have hardware power to spare in a benchmark you have the wrong benchmark running. Ideally you want to go beyond what the hardware can deliver easily. You're looking at stability, temps, voltages etc. which would be pointless if the hardware isn't at it's limit. It's not just for the sweet (or not so sweet) score you get at the end. So what he seems to be saying is, other laptops perform even worse. In case it was a joke or reference I didn't catch, ignore all that.

@@aphermion yes, you are correct, was mostly commenting on the impracticality of RTX today, because if port Royal was using traditional rendering techniques it would run way better or could be a much larger area, both better for games than ray-tracing today. But anyway, yes I know it is good to make an intensive benchmark.

Im from the future But not really as I very recently bought the excat laptop Linus is reviewing here. With 24Gb RAM instead of the 16GB he has here and a 240Hz refresh panel instead of the 144Hz, the laptop hits a steady 55FPS on Ultra with full ray tracing in CONTROL and 72FPS in Metro Exodus, same settings. And this is with the FHD resolution, not the 1080P max he had in this video Thanks indeed RTX

it is a gaming laptop, which means that CPU is never under 100% load and thus their cooling is fine. They did benchmark many games which show's that it has the performance higher than much thicker laptops. Even if CPU does throttle, i would much rather have thermal budget dedicated to the GPU instead in gaming tasks. What ASUS did is create a brilliant piece of machinery. No tradeoffs in battery life, performance, screen quality, audio, or form factor of course engineering is not free. such a low volume product will command a high price.

I have the zephyrus m, my only complaint is the battery life, even with the IGPU being used the battery life is trash because it's locked @144hz....you have to download a program and manually force it to 60hz....then it improves allot...and thermal throttling is easily fixed with some undervolting (-.120)

I have recently purchased this and LTT is "Spot On"! This thing is a gamer's dream. Aside from the FPS being up there and the awesome display, the sound is fantastic! Much better than my older Acer Helios 300. Linus is right... the price is eye-watering LOL. I'm not loaded with money so this is a once in a lifetime purchase. The only thing I had an issue with was trying to figure out how to set the RTX 2080 as the default graphics. G-SYNC was not available in the NVIDIA Control Panel. As a matter of fact, the only option in there was "3D Settings". So here you go for anyone who needs it: 1) Install the latest version of "Armoury Crate" (should be 1.44 at this time). 2) Open Armoury Crate and maximize the window so you can see the whole thing. 3) Go to "Device Configuration" section and enable "GPU Mode". 4) Restart your GX701 and you're good to go. When you go to NVIDIA Control Panel, you will see the "Set Up G-SYNC" option.
