The 1967 GTX wasn't a competitor for the Roadrunner. The Roadrunner was introduced for the 1968 model year.

For the hemi cars to go as fast as shown here they would have something like a 2.94 final drive ratio which was standard in 1967 for the Charger with hemi, which still allowed it to do a 13.9 1/4-mile.
