I literally read a post by you on a 4.6 forum today. I believe you posted it in 2006 saying that you had so much nitrous that it was coming out of the carb if you turned it up.
@UnityMotorSportsGarage3 жыл бұрын
Yes it was me.. We have encountered "saturation" a few different times with the 2v The thing that most people seem to forget is that while Nitrous is a power adder it isn't like boost at all.. the amount of Nitrous that can be digested is related to the size of the engine you are using it on, because the engines pistons still has to draw the intake charge into the cylinder under normal atmospheric pressure 14.7 restrictions in the intake system will lower this even further.. like having stock heads and cams.. but once your induction system is good to go... The engine itself will become the restriction! Once this happens you can put any nitrous jet you want in it and it will not make anymore power! Andy

I have thought about doing video of the nuts and bolts of the engine setup! I know that there is alot of folks who think boost is the only way to make a Mod motor run but as you can see it can be done. To me it is more satisfying to build a all out engine setup and then add Nitrous to it... Making over 2.0 hp per cube NA on a 2V is something that not many have tried or done then adding another 300+hp worth on N20.. Thank you for watching and please Subscribe as here in the near future you might just see that Video.. Andy

what type of compression ratio it running... since your the builder is it possible to run N/A with compression in 13-14.5:1 with a triple stage nitrous kit? I currently run 10.5:1 je dish pistons on a 88mm turbo but fuel wise only running e85-98 and 110 race fuel. Id like to get a simple run down on this setup.. mine is 4.6 2v promaxx heads, edelbrock intake, manley internals 102mm throttle body and elbow from edelbrock. 4r70w trans w 3500 9" stall with the 8.8 3.90 gears. just went 5.50et in the 1/8th @ ohio valley raceway in louisville,ky this past weekend but lifted the head. But, I want something different mean but different.
@UnityMotorSportsGarage11 ай бұрын
The compression on this combo is 14 to 1 and the more nitrous you spray the tuning window can get very small! Also from my experience we ran into Nitrous Saturation which means the engine can't digest anymore and it would stack coming out of the top of the carb during a pass. This is with the Largest cams that bullet cams could grind for a 2V 270° @ .050 this would happen around a 300 or so shot of gas. Hope this helps Andy
@dylonharvey40242 жыл бұрын
How much power are you putting down that things sick I see they take nitrous well also what bottom end
@UnityMotorSportsGarage2 жыл бұрын
The bottomend is a Teksid block that has been cut to take Darton sleeves for a 3.70 bore, Cobra Crank, Manley rods, JE pistons. It has made over 1000rwhp but we run it around 850-900 the tuneup is happier... The thing is there is a wall you hit with Nitrous..since you are still using the engine and atmosphere to draw the charge in the cylinder there is a physical limit on how much you can spray in 304" when you see nitrous back out of the carb on the top end of a pass... You have reached full saturation.. hope this makes sense thanks for Watching Andy

@UnityMotorSportsGarage3 жыл бұрын
@@hoost3056 Yeah I love Richard Holder's channel... He has done a ton of stuff! Has good info for folks. We hit a Nitrous "Wall" a few times.. Back when we had the TFS heads unported and small cams which is still big by most standards.. over 250 degs @ .050 it would only handle about a 200 shot past that it would saturate the intake and on my gopro you could see a Nitrous cloud coming out of the Carb on the topend of the track!! pretty crazy sight..lol TEA ported the heads and they flow 300cfm and we put the biggest cams in that Bullet racing can make (we are core limited)... 270 @ .050 and that raised our ceiling to a little over over 325-350 worth of N20... the car will slow down if you go past that... getting good distribution through those long runners of the Vic Jr. gets harder the more you spray... maybe we could do a fogger and have some success but most classes around here require a plate kit.. We really lucked on the 7.3 crank deal.. but both engines have the same bore spacing of 4.527" and after getting our hands on the 7.3 crank it is "almost" a direct bolt in... We will have to machine a sleeve to drive the oil pump on the 6.2 since it has regular Mod Motor style pump. For the longest time I had a fascination with being the fastest Non-Pi car... Ported right they can flow almost match a good set of ported PI heads.. the down side is the combustion chamber being a open design..
