The Willem, the centième DS, and later on the berliet T100, France was going crazy with trucks at the time 😮

I'm afraid it's an in-line eight German Deutz-Diesel, produced under licence by Willème. The engine above sucks in air only, so it can't be a gasoline engine if we cut out the gasoline direct injection. What is more, the two bowls are Diesel filters.

Yes it was a Deutz build under licence.

The French just have to do EVERYTHING different than other humans, for some reason.
@gringoloco59892 ай бұрын
Do you mean French are not humans ??? They maybe received instructions from aliens... Michelin remains certainly the most creative tyre manufacturer ... His main invention is evidently the radial tyre. The engineers were confronted to many challenges developing and adapting the radial principle to all types and categories, from cars to airplanes, via trucks, heavy construction machinery, motorcycles... Michelin remains certainly one of the top manufacturers but good old times are gone now... The challenge for occidental tyre manufacturers is to survive under the pressure of low cost Asian brands. For the consumers, tyres are only black, round and expensive... The difference is unseen because hidden inside... But slowly, slowly the Asian brands will improve in quality... The main mistake of many industry branches... technology transfer. This can cost to the occidental manufacturers their life. Difficult to explain why a tyre costs 2, 3 or 4 times more than an Asian in the same size... As a former Michelin man during 12 years, I remember the good old times and my good friends in France and all over Europe. I decided to go after the meeting in Vichy when François Michelin presented Carlos Ghosn with the subsequent cuts in personal... Not regrets...

I cant help but notice how little of the truck is cargo space,a commercial vehicles normally give far more space to the things that make money.
@GearTechHD3 ай бұрын
It's true that commercial vehicles typically offer more cargo space to enhance their utility.
@DetroitMicroSound3 ай бұрын
Cargo space is not needed with this rig. The small space it does have, is filled with ballast, to make the truck very heavy. This vehicle is all about heavy weight on tires, running at high speeds, in real-world conditions. This is how we are able to have tires rated safe, up to specific speeds. For example, my 1978 Kromag - Puch moped has Michelin CityPro tires, rated up to 93mph, because they have been physically proven reliable up to that speed, on real roads. This is why I buy Michelin.
