Agree 1000% get a go pro set it up so u can see controls , what ur doing and all the gauges , dont be worried about seeing everything outside what ur doing inside is whats important. I started this during commercial and going home and re watching over and over helped me notice things to watch and do better. Also for quickest find a 141 school, more regimented , probably easier to accommodate you. Plus u can easily fly with possibly a few different instructors so if having issue u cant get, maybe any instructor can teach it different so u get it easier. And to tie in a 141 school, verify they have a DPE associated or close by the work with, and have someone who u know will be there available for all your ratings . From personal experience its a nightmare with 61 schools no instructors , different DPE, no one is rated to do full down autos, check rides may be another state , unfamiliar areas it all makes a difference .

Excellent, Realistic Concise and detailed! Congratulations for this video. You may not know it, but you've described the Army's helicopter training quite well.

I Absolutely agree and recommend getting your own Go Pro. When I started recording my flights, it was so valuable going over my flight training on the ground. I could review advice from my CFI, review procedures to stay resh and I progressed a lot quicker, with less flights. Plus, if I took a long break between flights, watching some of these before flying again was a much more affordable refresher. Bottom line, it saves money. Great recommendation.

Got my inst and about to finish my Com. I agree about the Go Pro and would add: 1) Microsoft flight Sim type program... plus 2) heli flight simulation controllers - The controls cost about $ 1200 that's about 2 flight in real life, and you can practice everything as much as you want with the physical controls plus build muscle memory. They won't be perfect, but they help a ton. Plus, you can practice IFR later on as well and fly in different helis to get used to different cockpits, switches and controls. I got a plastic controller for about $500 but I would recommend the metal designs. They are more durable and more realistic. Like the Apache R44 one might be nice. 3) about Bose A20s - maybe after getting your pvt d get these if trying to save money. Id say flight controls are much more helpful. A20s are great unless you batteries die then they are noisy as all heck. Make sure to use new batteries before a solo flight and keep accessible spare batteries on you just in case. The noise gets VERY fatigue inducing very quickly otherwise. Hard to think straight after a while. Learned my lesson. :) Clark's are good for noise but pinch your head more so if you are prone to headaches, the A 20s may save the day. See if someone from your school will let you borrow them for a flight to test them out. Best wishes to anyone reading this! You've got this!!

Hey man, I’ve been following you since the semi-aggressive Osprey comment I made a few years back. Now since am in high school, and taking on aviation class, I’ve been really looking towards getting my private for fixed wing and rotory wing. These videos have been really informative and entertaining and has really helped me through my studies. I really appreciate your content man. Thanks ❤ @PilotDevin

Great Video, Thanks. I would like to see what comes next. As in, what if I want to get turbine certified, what needs to be done for that. and is single turbine v/s twin turbine a different certification?

Awesome video Thanks! Idea for a video that you mentioned here, what are awesome questions or things to practice to ask your instructor? Maybe a top 10 from your prospective. I have my first flight in 2 days, wish me luck =D

@@10oner The comment was for the drone flyer MDog. One of the big "Secrets": a Helicopter PPL is unusable because the only way you can ever rent one is by getting 1000 hours, and the only way of doing that is to buy a helicopter!

a. Learn to fly in DCS Flight Sim b. Steal a helicopter c. Realizing flying a helicopter wasn't fun at all, just super expensive and super harrowing, switch to flying FPV quadcopters that are fully aerobatic.

I was told by a private heli instructer the best way to learn how to fly helicopters: join the US Army. Pilot Yellow in Canada said it is about $40k USD to get your base license.

Im pretty sure becoming a helicopter pilot via the army requires you to become an officer or warrant. Both require atleast 10 years dedicated to the army. It's a huge time commitment but if your fine with that go for it

@@DogPuke99 For sure a major time commitment. The training and flight hours are in higher end helis and “free.” Hence why route was not sn option for me. 🤣

Lol. Only if you suck. 😂 There is a huge demand for pilots right now. AI and drones may change that in the future, but people still need pilots right now.
