Really cool device! Elegant in its features. Seems so easy to use for a quick easy brew! Love that it’s on tap at the end. Seems like a cider or session mead would do well in there as well. This may be going on my Christmas list.

Session mead is top of the list for me next!

I'm becoming more and more dubious of these types of gadgets.. but if it introduces folks to the hobby or keeps busy folks in the hobby, I'm fine with that. Nice review.

That’s part of why I reached out to review it. This one actually seemed to offer something different!

Very cool! I could definitely see this working well in my household. I have been making more session meads/ciders lately for consumption between my partner and I. This would be a great way to avoid the whole bottling and conditioning chore. I probably could use two-three of these. One serving, one on deck conditioning, and one getting pitched. Definitely interested in picking one up.

Check out their Kickstarter for sure! I think it’s cool that it’s coming to America, and I think there’s a lot of promise to the concept.
@PatrickBuckles Жыл бұрын
I would be all over this if I was a newer brewer or someone who didn't have the room/time to do extract/biab. This looks awesome and simplifies but does not hide the end to end process.

I don't know if this is for me now with all of the gear I have, but if I was getting into brewing for the first time I'd probably consider it.
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
That’s how I feel. For someone who doesn’t want to get into the nitty-gritty and ALSO doesn’t have any gear, this would be an excellent starter setup.

i like the idea im looking at the price point. 1 gal fermenter is about 13$ and a 1gal force carbonation keg is about 105-130$. ive only done extract brews and several meads. its a neat all in one idea. less kit, less mess, but i want to know how much the refills cost. the kits ive used and tweeked are around 15-27$. The higher end being 2 gallon batches so 24 beers.
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
From what I saw, the refills seem to be in the $17-20 range. Not too bad IMO.
@refeicul Жыл бұрын
that seems a incywincy high imo but in my commonwealth ive seen 4pks go for 90$ where as if i went a few miles east i can get it for 20. that being said one thing you dident really review was the cleaning out process. you mentioned rinsing out but what about getting in there and scrubbing and actually cleaning the base ect. @@DointheMost
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
@@refeicul Cleaning the base was pretty simple, a little rinsing and shaking and after a few times water came out clean. I haven’t emptied the beer yet but I understand it’s a similar process and everything kind of snaps and unsnaps to clean. Not a lot of “moving parts!” I wouldn’t let it dry and crust over though. Seems like that could cause issues.

I really love the look of this, at keast for what you mentioned, the session meads. My partner wants me to do some... interesting flavor meads and I think your right, for what it is, its really cool. The potential, while limited, is what has my eye!

Interesting product for sure. I think to me the appeal of home brewing is the hands on experience but it does seem like an easy intro, probably way better beer than my first mr beer kit. 😅
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
It definitely flips the script entirely - it’s like a gentle nudge toward making craft beer at home without having to fully understand the mechanics of it. I think it’s for busy people who still want to DIY.

Nice video. Does the entire unit fit into a fridge to get cold?

I won’t lie, this looks like something a beginning brewer might get for Christmas. Hell, I got a Brooklyn Brewshop kit for Christmas and now here I am. A jumping off point is what it is P.S. it’d be cool if eventually a person could get it second hand and do experiments without worrying about a warranty
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
I agree - I think there is a perfect niche where this would be an excellent gift. Definitely not for everyone, but does what it does well.
@oliveprocessor3068 Жыл бұрын
An item for homebrew that voids your warranty when you use your own ingredients? Fuck that
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
In part, I get it. If someone did something bonkers like pour hot wort in, I’d imagine it could warp the plastic parts. But I will absolutely be voiding the warranty on mine. 😂

I do not understand modern brewers :/ … it’s like cask ale with more steps…
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
This is definitely not for someone who is interested in the process of brewing. That’s for sure. That said, it’s incredibly useful for what it is.
@joshyazg2120 Жыл бұрын
New to brewing. Does the tap just sit raised above the bottom so no yeast comes through once settled? I don't understand if there's anything special about the tap.
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
Most of the sediment will drop to the bottom and stay behind in the dock (to be discarded) once undocked. The tap is also above the bottom of the “keg” (so to speak) so bulk sediment shouldn’t make it to the glass either. I don’t expect to see a 100% clear beer or other brew out of this thing, though.
@Fiveyin Жыл бұрын
since I only make meads lets hope you can make meads in this
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
You can, absolutely. But technically it would void your warranty. I’m going to try a session mead in it next!

New studio is well put together, but it loses the DIY vibe in your store room. I preferred the old setup, it's more relatable. This looks nice, but I don't prefer it.
@DointheMost Жыл бұрын
I get that! For other projects, I was moving the set around a lot to change backdrops, this all lays relatively flat behind the backdrop clips - which makes it easier for me to project-hop on a regular schedule.
