Great insights!🔥 LinkedIn is such a powerful tool when used the right way. Thanks for breaking down how to use it for job hunting!

yeah LinkedIn is a goldmine, massively underutilised by most people

What advantage you get applying for recently posted jobs? Does it really matter?
@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
@yousufrashwan yes cause you will be first in line so you will get more attention, your application won't be lost in the sea of applicants Maybe companies interview candidates on a rolling basis, by applying first you have less competition, can interview first, and get the job first
@Mufasa34Ай бұрын
brother about what should I chat with them to get an interview or get preferred in the applications ?
@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
Directly state what you want: as soon as they accept your request, follow up with them in DMs, say you are interested in their company. If they are hiring devs, say you apply on their site and would love to talk to them. If they don't have a job position on their site, ask if they are looking for devs to grow their team, if they say yes, ask if they are available for a quick call.

would this work for someone like me who is a self taught developer of 10 months? I have no experience, I only built a couple full stack apps and have a portfolio. I also did a 3 month internship for FE role.
@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
yep in your case, this strategy would actually work even better This will give you better results than just applying through job portals like everyone else

Bro, since, AI is rising so fast, is it logical & worth to enroll in computer science? After CS, will we able to get jobs?
@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
AI is coming after every job, but imo software engineering is still the best path forward. Its competitive, but if you get in, you get great salaries + good work life balance + high growth potential + you will see AI coming before everyone else

@@TheLastCodebendergood precise answer. Most of KZbinrs just discourage others from persuing a career path, but you are encouraging.

50 applicants in less than 1 hour ... this is getting harder than getting a reply from a pretty lady on Tinder :D

@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
Yeah man its like a gladiator arena, tough competition. My tips: narrow down the time to less than 1h, 30min, etc. + find hiring managers who work at those companies and connect with them, this will make you stand out from the crowd of applicants who dont do it
@om3galul989Ай бұрын
that is the number of people who clicked apply, not actually applied.
@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
yeah good point, the real number is probably 30% of that. The thing on linkedin is when they write "+100 applicants", we don't know the number. Could be 120 or could be 900+
@EternalCodersАй бұрын
it may be worked in your country, but its not working correctly in India, Here is competition very high

@@TheLastCodebender I was surprised when I saw the role HAHA. I had to rewind and do a double-take. I'm working at my own company, and we're growing 400% YoY! I don't want to work for anyone ever again :) At least, that's the goal I'm working towards. Thanks for your reply!
@TheLastCodebenderАй бұрын
@nosam1998 man that's awesome! Working on your own business is 10x better than a job. What does your company do?

@@TheLastCodebender I couldn't agree more! It gives me fulfillment and joy that I never knew was possible. Even though I am 4 times less than I used to be, I've decided never to work for another company again. We do B2B software and in-house projects. Our motto is, if you can dream it, we can build it. I've done contracts with IoT and physical products, ERPs/CRMs for companies around the US, AI automation (I've done a contract for a real estate company that deals with unstructured data), iGaming (Casinos), Car manufacturers, etc... I've met so many unique and successful people just by putting myself out there. I enjoy helping clients who aren't sure if something is even feasible. I've been programming since 8 years old, but this has been my calling since day 1.
