I just wanna quickly share my story. I started learning JS and React from Mosh's courses in late 2019. Within a year and a half I landed my first job in the industry as a Frontend Developer. I now work as a Senior Mobile Developer in a large pharmaceutical corporation making close to 6 figures. Soy de la comunidad de habla hispana, si entiendes algo de ingles, estos cursos son para ti, mosh te enseña no solo a replicar código, sino que a darle sentido al mismo usando las tecnologías que se usan en las empresas, eso te da mas contexto global y un entendimiento superior a otros cursos que puedas tomar en español. Para los que son de latam, estos cursos son en mi opinion al mismo nivel del señor Herrera y Miguel D. incluso diría que por el formato que se usa es mucho mejor para los principiantes, se aprende mas y esta mucho mejor guionado lo que te deja menos vacíos teóricos (algo bien usual en cursos promedios). Conclusion: el gran plus de mosh es el correcto guion de los cursos, no hay términos sueltos, ni explicaciones inconclusas, también tiene un correcto nivel de dificultad teórica, de lo sencillo a lo más complicado. No son cursos para expertos, pero si para gente que es incluso intermedia (juniors con 1-3 años de experiencia). PD: esto no es una promo, doy mi opinion totalmente libre y en base a mi experiencia (soy analista programador titulado)

Hi Mosh and everyone. I want to become a data scientist, and I already know python and sql on a decent level, but it seems like it would take a whole lot more to actually land a job as a DS. Do you think it would be a good idea to start with a different role that has a "lower bar"? It feels like it will take me another couple of years to get to the right level for DS, but maybe not that much with some other role.

The most difficult part I am currently struggling with is to get a call for the interview, though I too training to become a full stack web developer. Not getting positive responses from 100s of applications for an entry level position is upsetting. Not sure if they don’t like my resume !! I also didn’t see much entry level job openings in the last few months. I do have a bachelor degree in Economics and minor in Computer Science.

Hi mosh, my name is madhu sudhan I completed to learn java, DSA, design patterns and git in your courses and excellent teach. But I fully struggle to solve DSA problems and it's very time consuming in leet code. In leet code thousands of problems and so many topics like backtracking, dynamic programming, bit manipulation,sub array, two pointers, sliding window,, 😂😂 when I perfect. ​@@programmingwithmosh I was told by a career coach after a doing extensive coding classes for a few months that I should flip my current work schedule of 90% coding and 10% job prep / search to 90% job search and 10% coding, and that I should regularly go to coding meetups often in Washington DC. (^ Problem 1, whilst I had understanding of how to adapt to multiple technologies after having a general grasp of the foundations of JS, HTML, CSS, SQL and OOP after a few weeks of learning, I struggled to showcase that under pressure.) I had job searched for about 3-6 months of job hunting (2017-2018), clearing 50 applications a week. The applications were aiming for majority junior to mid positions, and even senior positions though not as heavily prioritized. I had one interview that was certain to hire me from a company named "example Global tech" that had written the offer up and was about to have me process the paperwork. At that point of processing the paperwork, they realized I have no degree, even the application had no mention of one as a requirement & that the whole interview process back and fourth did not mentioned it, till processing the onboarding of me as a new hire. Then they cancelled me. By that time I had ran out of money I had set aside to consistently pay for my travel expenses going to DC (4-5 days a week) to continue building network connections at the meetups and going to in person meetings, so I had to pick up a full time job again whilst dealing with some family health situations. At this point, I had reflected on all my notes that I had asked every interviewer for feedback on what I can improve on. Many said they weren't sure if I would be able to hit the ground running since I had no field experience, some said I had no experience with DS and algorithms (At that time DS and Algos were starting to appear in more job applications. CS was not at all emphasized at the coding program I was in.), lastly some had just said they're choosing to proceed with another candidate which is understandable. SO, being new to job hunting in a career field such as this, I had the responsibilities of a full time again & dealing with some emergency family health issues, I somehow thought that going to a part time bootcamp that taught CS with a friend whilst working would be good for the feedbacks that I received and fun as I enjoyed my last program. (Possible mistake #2? - My thought process? This bootcamp teaching CS and me capitalizing on my fundamental understandings of OOP, etc. would be good.) I had pretty much finished all the education materials and left the school as one of the students was actually a business major that started a startup company. He asked me to join since he thought I was the most capable out of the other students of our current class. He said he only joined the bootcamp to learn coding since he had issues hiring a coder that didn't slack or communicated. The startup proved to actually be profitable, enough to pay for operations. So all the actual founders and me were not actually making money still as whatever profits went directly to lower level retail employees to keep the operations going or expanding. I decided to do my own thing after 2 years as that was my limit. Now since then, job hunting seems to be even harder with the requirements mainly leaning towards more senior positions, though I'm still applying anyways. I have no portfolio since even the work that I had done for the startup was a in house operation that was NDA. My original portfolio is old, outdated expectations, and was clearly a representation of a very new person coming into web development. I am now in a position where I am just applying whilst trying to build a portfolio again, in a job market for devs that seems to be tougher than the last attempt at job hunting. I feel defeated as I am trying to get a foot in the door but due to more life concerns of housing I am probably just going to have to suck it up and find a better or more demanding full time job that pays more since housing seems to be worse in my area, which is just normal things to worry about and it is what it is. I just don't know how all this stretched out for years.
