Something to keep in mind, while the boat is a dream to sail at high speed, just remember that if you ever dig a hull, the relative wind is going to move behind you very fast since you will be slowing down so quickly. That will mean that if you ever catch a leeward hull, you will have to dump a ton more sail then you would ever expect and the initial easing will likely increase your healing as the wind could be moving aft faster then you can let it out. Moral of the story, if pushing a trimaran to the upper end, be alert. If you don't want to be alert, reduce sail early. I can see you all are competent sailors, just remember multi hulls have a different set rules they play by. Have fun, be safe. good luck w your videos.

Haha I know the Multihull source and the ramp you launched at I use to live right across the water from that ramp. Love that area of Mass. Loved exploring that area on my SUP. I need to move back lol. My old neighborhood beach in background at 11:30. Then you sailed into Marion Harbor and caught the Tabor sailing team practice. Walk down memory lane for me as a previous Tabor sailor myself.

My Dad and I bought a F 27 2 weeks ago from Bob and Ira @ Multi Hull source. Its hull #100. We are learning each day out and love it! I will never again sail without a life vest and VHF radio on me! Our local friend pitched his Corsair 750 last night in the Long Island Sound, June 30th 2021! I squall caught him with the main up! A 60 mph gust send him into a full run. He pitched over and immediately lost contact with the Corsair. If he had no life vest and radio he thinks he would be dead today! And he's been sailing for 60 years. Bottom line, you drive with a seatbelt and sail with a life vest!

Awesome video, me & Julie just sold our 2005 Privilege 615 Catamaran. We bought a condo in Key Largo and just wanted to down sized and I think we just found our next boat, wicked fast, looks like its easy to sail and plenty of room for two people to live aboard for a few months at a time and the sail time to the Bahamas has just been cut in half. The price is not bad for a new boat, $165,000 to $205,000 depending on how you have it decked out. Sierra & Billie thank you for this video, you guys just saved us months and hours looking for another boat and there are several dealers in South Florida that carry this brand......

I don't know about the 880, but I have an F-9A (31'). A couple feet extra in boat length means extra mast length, which all ads up in extra time for set up. An F9A/F31 is definitely harder to set-up than an F27 which is much harder to set-up than an F24/F25. It's so much easier to man-handle smaller parts.
@tomwilliams86754 жыл бұрын
@@steveturansky9031 Steve looking at how far it was coming out of the water with 4 or 5 adults on board I would guess it could flip over if they weren't careful. How difficult is that going to be to self right with just Bill, Sierra and Jetty on board. Maybe not possible at all?
@steveturansky90314 жыл бұрын
@@tomwilliams8675 I don't think it's possible to self right but with powerboat assistance and flooding a hull you can. F-boats have a tremendously high righting moment, 39,000lbs for my F-9A, If I remember correctly. It's possible to flip it but you have to push it extremely hard and I don't think they were too close. Flat water would really be nice but I've only sailed in the ocean. I do know that John Walton flipped an F-27 in an ocean race but he made enough interest in an hour to replace the boat multiple times.
