Wow, I come from a very conservative denomination where all that was stressed was “you gotta do more”! We were told that we get saved thru grace but after you gotta do all the works to stay saved!! I found this talk to be so refreshing, thanks!!
@ChibiPanda88882 ай бұрын
I kinda grew up around that sort of mindset, too. The thought process of "oh, I do all these good works and say the right words and I look all clean-cut and nice, so I must be a better Christian than you" sort of thing. I went to a different denomination of church than what i grew up in, and i heard the gospel explained in a way i never thought of before, but which is absolutely true. All our good works are trash when it comes to our salvation. We are dead in our sins, and dead men can't do anything. God had to reach down to us to pull us out of the casket of our sin nature, and all we did was we held up our hand and accepted His help. We do good works after we are saved to honor our father and because we want to shine His light in the dark world.

Wow, brother, I didn’t know you had another channel. I am glad I found it. I like your style very much, in dressing, thinking, living. That is such an interesting sermon thank you pastor. I'm very provoked. I battle with my own sense of guilt specifically with giving up my weed addiction. In the book of James I read recently that the word sin is being described as different for some people and for me particularly it's my guilt and pleasure for using weed to boost my productivity and creativity. I feel convicted because I enjoy what I get but also I feel guilt that I am doing something that is wrong in the eyes of God and that it is inhibiting my growth. I've been unable to really make a decision. Sometimes I make a decision daily to quit and I throw out whatever I have. And then I find myself either looking for where I threw it or going to the store to buy some more the next day and continues at that cycle for weeks maybe even months or years. My problem is commitment. Unable to fully give it up. So therefore this sin may be a sin for me but it might not be a sin for other people who can enjoy it once and on occasion sort of like alcohol and alcoholics it's not a sin to drink alcohol but it's a sin for that person if they cannot control their alcohol use and need to get to the point of intoxication. It's sort of like that with me but with weed. I'm just using something else to get drunk. And it's a far easier way and cheaper and less bad for you. Does anybody have any thoughts about this. Do you ever feel that way with cigars? That it's a pleasure that you enjoy but that is also an addiction? I feel like such a loser for even admitting how long I've been battling committing to quitting. Literally years. And also for ranting on a comment section to see if people can relate.

With the lack of a reliable, unbiased source of good and knowledgeable sermons, it’s been exceedingly difficult to return to Him out of immense guilt for abandoning Him when things got a little hard. I was overjoyed when I found that you’d created this second channel, and have been listening to your words and support devoutly. This video in particular was especially moving and profound, and arrived at just the right time. Your presence in the absence of good Christian leaders I’d otherwise turn to has been a blessing, and I hope that you will continue to give attention to this channel!
