‼️Sousou no Frieren‼️ Everyone locates the series faster with their original names😒 I don't know why they have the bad habit of translating everything, seriously what is the need to do that.

@@Misaki_Mei504 that is not true. "everyone" is generalizing and Beyond Journey's End seems to be a very good translation that tells you what the story is about. This is not a new thing and I will continue to use the english translation

@@DefinitivelyZach I'm only on episode three or four and i'm obsessed. It's honestly beautiful, both the animation and the story telling. They really paid attention to detail and I'm in love. :D

I read the manga before the anime was announced, and when I watched the first ep it still hit me just like when I read it.

Frieren is a name. Sousou is a Japanese word I don’t know the meaning to but is surely not a name. So it gets translated. This is not a new thing.

@@DefinitivelyZach If I write in detail, it would be a spoiler, so just the Japanese meaning that is not a spoiler. "葬送の(Sousou no)" is the Japanese word for "funeral." In more detail, it means "to bury and send off the dead."

It's distributor's right to translate the title since they want to sell their product to English speaking audiences. It's not just random translating as it is, they have to use words that can sell with certain criteria (such as it has to be catchy, etc.). Another example is Attack on Titan, from Shingeki no Kyoujin which will may not has the same impact if it's translated directly as "The Advancing Titan" or "The Attack Titan".
