My TEA 20 is 67 years old, the same age as myself. It has a Horndraulic loader, made in Cardiff. This dear old tractor is in regular use and original. It is a pleasure to work on all the old parts as they require maintenance. Cheers from Australia.

Marvelous stories of this Tractor that I really enjoyed looking at when I was a boy, and still today I wish I could find one to restore and play with. ( I don't think I shall ever 'graduate' from playing with tractors and machinery in general :) Thanks for presenting this great video.

Excellent production. I started in 1953 on family farm near Inverness. But made a career in BBC radio. Still have my Fergy, still have my 1963 STC Microphone. So I know your film was great. Well done. Still run my Fergy in East Lothian. Gregor.

Problem is. What is there around that can replace it? Even a small tractor now you need a computer to tell you what is going on, and half the time the computer is the problem.

No Vehicle can Compare! 70yr Old Cars are Rarely being Driven, Perhaps to a Classic Car Show, that's about it! Fergie's are still Tilling Paddocks & Slashing Paddocks all Hard Yakka Stuff! Awesome video, learned a lot about our TEA. If only ours could tell its story. From non matching casting years, to repaired broken parts, I would love to hear how it all happened. Especially how a TEA-20 made it to our farm in ohio.

We just feed cows in the winter with horses. Partly for nostalgia, partly to keep the horses in shape for the pulling season and partly because when it’s 30-50 below zero tractors don’t start as easily and cold weather operations is hard on the equipment. We do plug our tractors in during cold weather and still use one for feeding calves silage. We had a 8N and a Farmall M-TA in the old days. The Ferguson 3 point is one of the best things to happen to tractors.

Finally! Film of the Fergie doing a nine yard plough. You need an engine that can move itself and drive tools? Fergie TE20. Fix with two hammers and a spanner. Bear in mind though, in the late 40's early 50's the system cost as much as a house. Tractors never were cheap. One other factor not mentioned here that endears Ferguson to farmers, they are safer! With a drawn implelement if it sticks the tractor can climb over its own rear wheels, and you are at best in need of clean underwear. The way the three point link distributes the weight and load, you just stop, and curse, lift the linkage , and go again. Ferguson has saved many lives over the years.

They're strong little buggers, and relatively simple to fix. I've seen some very sick ones, and they still run - if only just. Rebuilt 3 about 10 years ago, and all parts are still available. Not necessarily cheap, but given that they have a useful life of 30+ years, the genuine parts are worth the money.

Push down clutch, select gear,let up clutch ,Gently, away they go until you say stop. Notice the jerking as the tractors moved off? They are the most forgiving of machines.

A nice British copy of the Ford 8N. Ferguson did design the 3 point hitch system for the model 9N but it and the similar 2N model Ford were in production years before TEA 20. The differences between the Ford 8N and Ferguson were few.

Did they make a gas version? I have a 1954 It looks all original exhaust is underneath out the back like a car. But it is gas. Starts up every time in the winter. Have to add lead to gas. Did they all have the same size engine or did they come with different size motors? Just picked up two implements Massey Ferguson both look like they have only been used like maybe one year on the farm. Amazing tractor! Looking at another one I found in almost mint condition. Thanks, Little Fergie.

All te-20 tractors are gas except TE-F20 those were disel and TE-D20 those where gas and vaporising oil (TVO) (Paraffin)
@ToreDL875 жыл бұрын
To merely add to what Vilberg excellently replied: As for gasoline versions there was a 1.9L and a 2.0L made by Standard company, difference was a couple of extra ponies in the 2.0 (We have one of each). There was the Diesel of course, and the TVO (..we have one). There was also 25000 Fergusons made between 1946 and 1948 with a Continental Z-120 engine, most found their way to the U.S but there are some in Europe as well (.. Eh.. We have one). Then there was the TEF-20 with a High/Low range gearbox box, i.e it was merely a 4 speed TE-20 with a high-low range making it 8 speed.

Just a small correction to the inaccuracy of the commentary. Harry Ferguson was born & reared in Northern Ireland. The North of Ireland is a different nation entirely and is governed centrally from Brussels.

@@Jason0. People who are unable to think independently, unable to form their own opinions, often refer to Northern Ireland as the north of ireland. They are simple enough folk who have been radicalised over time by the hatemongers of the violent left. Some of them even believe that Ireland is a nation !. It is incredible almost.
