I have both, the Henry is for the house, the midi for the shop, to compare these two is like comparing a Lamborghini to a Ford Focus! I love my midi for fine funiture work when I am out in my workshop, but thats what I would expect from Festool, the midi is designed for our industry, fine dust, super fine filters, auto start and stop, blue tooth etc, the little Henry is good at home,!

Love my MIDI-I, I use it for all my sanders and small tools. I'm sure you are aware of the new battery powered Cordless mobile dust extractors, the CLEANTEC CTC SYS I and the Cordless mobile dust extractor CLEANTEC CTC MIDI I. The CTC SYS I would be a great option to carry up stairs. All the Best, Chuck.

I have the old midi and the new CTM one. It’s so frustrating when I use the old one and it doesn’t have to Bluetooth attachment on the pipe to switch it on when I use it for cleaning up. The new CTM the control is right there on the pipe. Plus the Bluetooth batteries on the tools are great and the updates/health checks you can do through the Festool app.

I gave up on my 4th Henry. With fine dust I found it was killing them. Owed a nilfisk for about 5 years and still have it. I now have 3 midis. One in my van and 2 in my shop. One being a older model that came secondhand. There brilliant extractors. Yes a little bulky at times but I also have a used ct sys that’s a very lightweight last minute tidy up tool as your going out the door.

Very good point, I only really use the Henry at a push or if I can’t be bothered to carry a Festool with me.

thanks for taking the time to do the review - I am in the dilemma of replacing the Henry and looking at the Festool as an option, I am probably most interested in the power differences. A couple of comments on your review, firstly regarding the size and portability. You're missing from view and review probably the most cumbersome part of the Henry which is the hose, metal pipe and the head. If you consider this in the size and portability the Festool looks to be a neater and simpler option as it's mostly contained within the machine. Second comment is it's not a hoover, I know I might sound a bit pedantic as they really did a great job in coining the phrase, but a hoover is a different brand and you are reviewing a Festool and Henry. It's just a pet niggle of mine 😀

Some good points, If your priorities are Cleaning, go to the Henry, if your priority is dust extraction with tools, go for festool Remember, if you put into the equation the festoolcleaning accessories, then everything gets even more complicated and bigger
