It was obvious that Dunn was done with the hiring of Krauskoph. Dunn herself said she was only temporary, and felt she had accomplished what she came to the Fever to do. Sides I'm not so sure about, at least for now. Sides was head coach for the Fever at the start of the year when they were at the bottom of the league and then took the Fever to the playoffs. While some will rightly point to CC as the real the reason the Fever made it to the playoffs, Sides was the coach. It would look really bad to fire a coach that led the team through an amazing comeback in the very year that she did this. Having said that my prediction before the Olympic break was that CC was going to have an entire team built around her, for her. This is part of that process. But it is bigger than this. I predict we are going to see one of the biggest if not the biggest shake-ups, league wide, in the history of the WNBA. The owners see it and are scrambling to position themselves to capitalize on the huge influx of fans and money. The players see it, which is the cause of all the drama and player tribalism. Things are-a-changin in the WNBA. Stock up on popcorn!

The bench they have, is already pretty good. A championship team isn't built in a day; they still need more time to synch with each other. Yes, the bigs needed to stick up for Caitlin, take Chennedy Carter's head off, for example. Most of the other 'attacks' weren't vicious, and I think that 'what's her name' with the sun's wasn't intentional (though no normal person who is a pro basketball player should have claws like that). Looking forward to next season. Smith will be gone with the expansion draft, as it appears that she wants more of a starring role. That position will be the focus of the draft.

Sure, the bench is not going to be up to the skill level of the starters, but the gameplay shouldn't be so disorganized when starters are sitting. Seems like there's more skill there that is held back by poor coaching, but I think some changes to support the type of gameplay that Caitlin has brought are also required. Should be interesting next year. Hope there's less background noise in the league overall and we can focus on basketball itself.

Dunn probably knew. The interview was before the announcement. She wouldn't have said I'm not the GM, OOPS, I forgot, I AM the GM. There wouldn't have been any reason at all to keep her in the dark.
