The Fever were 1 and 8 for the first 9 games of the season. 1. The Fever was playing against the best teams in the league. 2. The Fever players weren't in the physical shape needed to play Caitlin's high paced style 3. The Fever players never played with anyone who could pass the ball like her and weren't ready, 4. CC's teammates were playing hero ball and working against her 5. It took her 10 games to turn them into a team and make them realize that they would be rewarded if they played with her instead of against her 6. Caitlin overcame Sides' ego and poor coaching. In 2025 the Fever will turn this around.

Those first 26 games before the Olympic break, CC's legs were shot, and Lexi Hull was still riding the bench. At least now, they have a coaching staff, but people have to stop having expectations of it being inevitable they'll be raising a championship flag this year. I hope they do, and I expect CC is going to be an animal, but let's not pressure them too much and just enjoy the journey!!!

While there were some free agents involved, these were trades. True free agency signings can’t take place until February. If Satou is looking at several teams that means she is NOT committed to being part of this young Fever organization and therefore we don’t want her for a one year rental. We need a 4/5 to upgrade from Smith. Salaun or Messelman from overseas would work. Names like Jessica Shepherd, Elena Delle Donna or even Brionna Jones might work. Remember we don’t need scoring we need rebounding and secondary rim protection.

@ I think it was more than just that, the fever looked lost on def more often than not, lack of communication, lack of effort, and lack of basic def skills. also AB is not much of a def threat for her size. @ Iowa those girls were undersized and less athletic than everyone they played but they gave 110% and functioned like a school of piranha with conviction and purpose and that made all the difference.

If Kelsey stays then the only spot that needs to be filled is the 4. I don't really see any stretch 4s in free agency. No free agent wants a multi-year deal anyway with a new CBA comming up. Also 2 expansions drafts coming up next year throws another monkey wrench into the mix. I think they'd like to (I speculate here) trade up for a higher pick , I hope, to get someone like Betts for rhe 4 spot. If Mitchel leaves then there is a huge whole in the 2 spot that will have to be filled. There's way to much here for me to speculate on.

It’s hard to figure what the bench actually can do with sides inept handling of the players last year. Some of the bench players went overseas and performed good which makes you wonder if White can get more from them than sides and are worth keeping. Then there are the players overseas who are supposed to be really good and are I’m sure a lot less apt to fall into the jealous, lesbian, racist, hating type which is common in the wnba. The Fever want a team that will jell and play together as a team so I’d think they would want to search over there which could be why we arent hearing anything around here. And, to top it all off, there are these ridiculous posts saying CC left the wnba and is playing in Europe, Kelsey is leaving, Kelsey is staying, a bunch of the Fever are already gone, the Fever already signed Sabaly, The Fever signed Plum….. On and on so it’s confusing.

I expect the young players to advance, some greatly. IMO this team will be considerably better with just the basic core. 1 great signing, not necessarily 1 great player.... Just one great piece. Smith needs to go. Mitchell signed. Just from Clark's improved 3point % she could average 25+ ppg. And mitchell 20+. The new run and gun offense will improve their defense by exhausting other teams.
