Love the Fiero Store products. Got one of these side scoops for my car. Looks Great!.

I have the same side scoop. I did have to put wire mesh on the intake part as the first time I drove on the highway I sucked some trash into the scoop. So I bought some wire mesh the holes being about 1/4" I used tin snips to cut out what I needed adding extra for "Tabs" I then bent the tabs and epoxied it in place. I used flat black paint out of a rattle can to match up the mesh color with the rest of the scoop. Looked awesome!

Naturally it's bigger. One is a grille, covering the opening. The other one is a scoop, it has to be larger to function properly. It is in more of the air stream, to catch and direct it into the opening.

I bought that back in 1995 lol

One of those screws is a drywall screw and the one that wont tighten belongs to the car.

Holley used to make those back in the 80s, nothing new, and I had one back then, it just looked cool, it does nothing to improve performance, I do have a question, what is with the PAINFUL 2 minutes of unboxing ??

Information is a good thing to have when buying something, especially with those that have never bought anything from the Fiero Store. You can always scroll forward. Just be glad I didn't talk about some sponsor at the beginning, and tell you to like, subscribe, share, etc.

I think you need more than a scoop, sounds like your engine has a bad knock.

You're hearing the exhaust manifold gasket failing. I did not know the gasket was gone at the time of making this video.

Is this your daily driver? If so, what's it like to drive it daily with only 2 seats. I am looking into a bomb, 1986 gt super clean. I'm just being held back because of the reduced passenger space.
@durtykurty49338 жыл бұрын
Personally, I've got two cars. This was my DD for about 10 months tho, and commuted to work on the high way a lot during that time. Have you ever been inside a fiero before? If not, even tho it is a 2 seater it has LOTS of leg room for the passenger side. I have had people that are 6'5 fit in there just fine. The trunk space is also huge in comparison with something like an MR2 or a corvette. Even with a good condition GT, you'll still run into things that need to be fixed tho. It is a great car to learn things on, and really isn't that expensive to maintain even tho most people think "Ahhh mid engine $$$$$$". Main thing when looking into buying a Fiero is checking for rust on the frame, behind the trunk carpet, and up under the body panels (if you can get access to them).

I am test driving that fiero gt by the end of the week. My main concern is the number of people. I know they're surprisingly roomy, as I have checked out every quirk and poked around in an 86 fiero base. The particular one is clean underneath, with a fresh professional paint job (original silver color match). I am getting it as a garage project this winter to hopefully be my summer driver next year, so I know I'll be doing work to it. Is there anything you think I should check immediately and replace?
@durtykurty49338 жыл бұрын
I HIGHLY recommend going on PFF (fiero forums) or the closed group on Facebook. One thing to check is the heater resistor in the front of the car. Leafs build up inside of it and it can catch fire (It is VERY easy to do.) I also change oil, if it is a manual I'd change the transmission fluid with syncromesh, and make sure your linkage cables are properly adjusted. BTW, the E brake cables usually don't work properly. Usually due to bad calipers. If it sticks, go to the back of the car and you'll see an 'adjuster' for the cable. Pull on that and the brakes should release. Another thing that seems to go is the heater core. I've got a video about replacing that but haven't uploaded it here. Yea, there are plenty of things to do during the winter that are easy to check/replace. And plenty of information on the web.

Caleb_1340 Depends what you want. A Fiero has been my daily driver for 29 years. If I want to take a vacation with my wife and carry more, we use her Saturn boat. If I want to cover a lot of ground in a hurry, I use my motorcycle.

Personnage, I don't like the look of the thing and I seriously doubt the extra air input. My 2 cents though.

Get real , do you really think that their is any air at that point ramming into the air box. Just do some string testing and you will be very surprised at what you find .

This is just a basic review, no need to get nasty. We are all part of the fiero family here.

Intake upgrade to 3inch
@durtykurty49338 жыл бұрын
+Dungeons Dragons That upgrade is known to suck rocks into the air filter. I would recommend making a custom screen for the scoop if you do that. It's really cool tho, you let off the throttle and you can hear it go "Swooo" noise. Really cool.
@dungeonsdragons19008 жыл бұрын
I put a small screen in the 3 inch tube never had that problem. Sounds great a deeper exhaust note plus its runs cooler even when it's nearly 100 outside.

@durtykurty49335 жыл бұрын
@@pgtmr2713 I am aware of the 2.5 Iron Duke engine. Most people that see this video have probably seen my other videos, it is a GT so it's the 2.8.
