It's not a favorite moment but a pleasant surprise. I was a bit worried what Disney/MCU was going to do with the R rating. They didn't Disneyfy the adult content in this film.

Before I SAW that it was Johnny and not Steve , I knew it was Johnny. Just the dialog delivery with Chris Evans fake NY accent, y'know not a HEAVY one but VERY noticeable and the WAY his Johnny carries a bit of snark even when it's just regular conversation dialog. Maybe it's the tone or the timber of it, but Evans slid right back into that character, where when he talks it's him trying to sell himself, because let's face it Johnny REALLY loves himself. lol

Remy LaBeau “Gambit” is Creole, as well as Channing having Creole ancestry which is one of the biggest reasons he connected with him and has always wanted to play him. The accent is pretty spot on.

The comic you mentioned is Fantastic Four #600 i'm pretty sure, Torch gets trapped in the Negative Zone and has a last stand moment, written by Hickman. Highly recommended, damn good read.

Fun Facts: 1. This is the third time that Shawn Levy (the director) has worked with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman (Levy directed Hugh Jackman in the film Real Steel and gave him a voice cameo in Free Guy. Levy also directed Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project). This is the second time Levy has directed Chris Evans (as Evans cameoed in Free Guy also). 2. Henry Cavil was so dedicated to his brief cameo that he actually was getting sick from smoking the cigar and didn't mention it to the director until after the scene was filmed. 3. The Gossip Girl reference when Deadpool mentions about the number of bones in the human body is a reference to Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds' wife (whom they've known each other since the abominable Green Lantern film). 4. The dog that plays Dogpool is named Peggy and she is known for winning the title of Britain's ugliest dog. She was the runt of an accidental litter. 5. When Logan smashes Deadpool's head into the radio of the Odyssey, one of the songs is from The Greatest Showman (which Hugh Jackman starred in). It's the song before "You're The One That I Want" from Grease. 6. Channing Tatum's Gambit is from a project that never got off the ground. So, when it comes to Gambit's comments when we first see him is meta-reference due to the project not getting off the ground. 7. Blade's "there's ever gonna be one Blade" is also a meta-reference. Not only is it a joke about the fact that the Marvel MCU introduced a Blade with actor Mahershala Ali in the role (in a post credit scene in The Eternals), but that there was also a TV series continuation of Snipes' films which starred Kirk "Sticky Fingaz" Jones in the lead role. The show didn't last a season and Marvel's attempt at a solo Blade film have failed (at the time the scene was filmed, it was still in production, which is why Deadpool looks at the camera the way he does as a "yeah, that might not be so" joke. However, now, the scene can be interpreted as him saying, "Yep, that's right."). 8. Blake Lively provides the voice of Ladypool, their daughter provides the voice of Kidpool and Babypool is voiced by their youngest (at the time of filming). Matthew McConaughey provides the voice of the cowboy Deadpool and Nathan Fillion provides the voice of Headpool (the floating head). A large chunk of the Deadpools featured in the Deadpool Corps are actual variations from the comics. 9. The "no cocaine" joke is actually based on an actual note that Kevin Feige gave the production. 10. The scene where Happy interviews Wade is chock full of references (including the helmet that the little kid that Tony saves in Iron Man 2).

I like that before this came out, everyone said, "I hope this movie doesn't disrespect the ending of Logan." Then in the first 5 minutes the movie says, "Nope, that's EXACTLY what we're doing." And everybody was OK with it.

One of my favourite things that I thought about is quite subtle (I think). At the start Deadpool says Wolverine can’t be dead because “that’s not how healing factors work”. Which is a very “Reddit” thing to say. THEN there’s a point where says to Paradox “What are you? The internet?” When Paradox is berating him after he brings Wolverine to him as a replacement Anchor Being. THEN at the end it’s Paradox who tells DP and W that they won’t survive the matter/anti-matter stuff because it’s the laws of physics. Which feels very “that’s not how healing factors work”. Then obviously they survive. So the movie starts with someone being wrong about how healing factors work, and ends with it. And it just feels a bit like “nobody knows, we just do what makes the best story”

My gripe about the color grading is we have been stuck in the era of blue and orange for some time now. I am really hoping we move on beyond just adding purple which is what most major franchises do. Why blue/orange combo? Humans perceive blue as calming, peaceful. Orange is perceived as more active, hyped up, a tad chaotic. So the juxtaposition of the colors combo really grabs our attention.

Gambit is a Cajun. A decent of French settlers to Louisiana and French settlers from the Maritime Provinces (where I first learned of them), and other Provinces of Canada called the Acadian’s. They fled, and were forcibly removed from Canada by my country (French being the ancient enemy), Britain, to either head for France or French colonies (former or otherwise). Quite a few of their ships sank on the way to these places sadly and many thousands died.

The accent is Cajun. Words that seem unintelligible - like "le diable blanc" (the white devil), "laissez les bon temps rouler" (let the good times roll) and couyon (Fr. couillon - fool, idiot) are Cajun French - which regular French speakers understand. with out much trouble. It tool several viewings before I realized that they were translating Cajun to English on Swamp People.

My thoughts on it are they delivered like with the previous two films. I mean they very much put focus on what the audience wants to see and not maybe what their own first idea would have been and it's visible. My understanding as well they have writers on set and adjust things when they don't feel they are working well enough. Especially the comedy and just fishing for that perfectly funny joke. Creating a satisfying experience for the audience scene by scene and I respect that approach. But else it's intentionally a smorgasbord of stuff the audience and spanning any demographic that has interest in Deadpool movies and otherwise audiences would enjoy seeing on film and probably long wished they would. And they did a great job weaving all of that including turning jokes that my be a little too deep into a double entendre where need be. Seeing people watch this and some references went over their head (and mine) but the moment is still funny. It did resonate to many as not as contained as the first as well seemingly not continuing the second so much but it is titled Deadpool And Wolverine and not Deadpool 3 to signify itself as a new chapter. So I am impressed with the composition. It is nothing I could have thought of but then again we are dealing with a cast and crew comprised of pros here. Else if Disney does not exploit into at least an animated series or something, and I mean the concept of Deadpool colliding with other genres it is their loss and ours. Until he is 90!

You said it, Wade brings the funny and Logan bring ALL the other emotions. As cheesy as this movie is, I actually shed a little tear at the end. Not sure if i prefered the second one or this one to be quite honest. Which is crazy because the first movie is my least favorite of this franchise so far. That's all we want in a Deadpool movie i think... cameos and storylines meshing together.

Not really a fan of superhero movies. I enjoyed a couple of the early X-Men movies, Nolan's Batman trilogy and Logan was a great film but not much else. Bit over the whole thing and honestly a bit worried about how long they'll milk this for. It's been a good quarter of a century already. Time to support some fresh big budget storytelling in Hollywood.
