Mark Wahlberg stars in Paramount Pictures' inspirational docudrama exploring the remarkable rise of Massachusetts-born, junior welterweight title winner "Irish" Micky Ward. Heartbreaking line. So well delivered. This entire scene is so powerful. She really doesn't know up to that point what she has been doing to Micky. This is the scene that made Dickey able to admit in the last fight against Neary that he was only good enough to fight Sugar Ray, not beat him. A whole lot of epiphany going down here.

A boxing film with great competition atmosphere? Yes, for sure, but about so much more than just boxing! This is a family drama, it's a reflection of disastrous social grievances in disregarded regions that nobody ever talks about in the supposed Land of all Dreams. It's a story about hard work, about loyalty vs. self-actualization, about brotherhood, motherhood, self-esteem and perseverance .... and the end result freakin deserves its recognition!👍🏻
