This came out when I was a freshman in high school. About a year or so later, Mickey O’Keefe, who plays himself here, became a close family friend of my aunt and uncles. He showed up every Sunday for the patriots games for a few years. He’s a great guy, and lit up like a little kid whenever you asked him about the movie. He loved showing off that he had “Mahky Mahk’s” (walberg) name on his contact list. He’s still alive, but stopped coming around after a while. I think partly because his memory kept getting worse (after years of boxing and other things.) Its so weird because I haven’t seen these clips since the movie came out, and now I’m watching someone that I actually know personally acting alongside Christian bale and mark walberg lol.

This movie came out when I was a sophomore in high school. Resident of Tewksbury, I actually know Ritchie Farrell as a family friend. He wrote the book "High on Crack Street-Lost Lives of Lowell". He is featured as the cameraman during the filming scenes in the movie.

Charlene is not the most hated character. I know dickie was clean after jail but he was all about himself before that. And the mum showed preference to the older son in the film. Also she was not a good manager at all to her sons. I get she loved her kids no doubt. But in the film she was misguided.

imwaytoshort actually DICKY is the most hated character not Charlene. nobody wanted Dicky back in the corner after all that trouble he cost for Micky and his family. always letting him get beat up all the time in a boxing match and getting arrested 27 times by the cops and always being on crack all the time and on top of that, he did that stupid HBO movie with him being on drugs and crack like who would want Dickie back no one. and by the way, he wasn't a good trainer and the mother wasn't a good manger to Micky. all Dickie ever think about was himself and didn't what Micky needed. and the mother always thought about Dickie. i know that Micky's mother and brother but i would not want neither back for putting me throw all that hell and letting me get beat up all the time. this is why have of the people in Lowell didn't like Micky's family. and could see why.
