i broke my ankle 8 weeks ago, and had the surgery(9 titanium screws, 1 plate) done while i was concious(they had to anesthese me via my spine because i had eaten shortly before the accident!) that experience was VERY interesting, just what i ever wanted... LOL! the way he used his pain for ''playing'' mourning for the hobbits is great!

I've got to hand it to him. I nearly drown. If it wasn't for my youngest sister saving me, I would've died. After I recovered, though, I did walk it off. However, I was mad at the lifeguard scolding me for hogging the ladder after almost drowning. He didn't bother to help me when I was drowning. Word of advice: Stay in shallow water at Carowinds. The lifeguards are assholes and don't care about your life.

I think the prosthetic hobbit foot was probably pretty tight against his real foot and it may have gone a little numb. If you've ever worn ski boots you'll know what I mean.

I had pretty much the same thing happen a long time ago when I jumped off a stage and a glass shard lodged straight through my shoe in to my heel. I instantly felt it, but I could still kind of walk/limp outside and sit down. The severity hit me when I took off my shoe and saw the blood soaked sock.

Second that scene is very long, how likely is it that they got the perfect scene in one take? No clearly he continued with the scene for some time with the injury until Tarantino cut the scene. Then he got his bandade and/or stitches. Tarantino like the addition and got some fake blood for him for the shoot the day after. Fake blood was put on the actress face

I have to give props to Viggo for filming that water scene despite nearly drowning. One time, I was swimming in the ocean and a rogue wave hit me. I was dragged under and almost drowned until I pulled myself back up and made my way back to the shore, coughing and sputtering the whole way. I remember crying and panicking when I hit the sand. To this day, I don’t like swimming in the ocean. I’ll just swim in a pool where I won’t get hit by any waves.

I felt Sean's pain literally! I had a glass shard lodged in my heel once after jumping off a 3 feet stage at a local bar (went straight through my shoe) and I'm a haemophiliac too... so total blood bath. But the worst part was the removal of some splinters with tweezers at the hospital.

It happened with me once i was a kid, strange is, with me it didn't hurt, i didn't feel the pain, 1 minute later i fainted because of blood loss, the medics said it was because of adrenaline that i didn't feel the pain, but damn, i got the scar till this day.

As a kid I walked ontop coals and into and through flames. I mean real 2-3 foot tall flames from gasoline. A circle of flame enveloped me and was closing in on me. I was maybe 4 or 5 or something. I remember deciding I don't have a choice and I ran through it. Oh and I was BARE FOOT. LIKE A FREAKING HOBBIT. (Only tall because I was always tall) So yeah, running bare feet through live flames and coals. I actually didn't eastnot cry much and my parents and family were all in a fuss. Lol funny crazy memory

Viggo Mortensen is the one true king of Gondor. You can actually believe he is Aragorn. He goes that extra mile to great lengths and pain to be involved in the role it's amazing. It is a shame he's not in more things. I've only seen him in two other films, an Al Pacino film and a Western horse racing film. He definitely deserves more recognition, which sadly Hollywood won't give die to the era they're in.
