I might have played and enjoyed Hades without the dialogue...but I for sure never would have put more than 100 hours into it (the voice acting is like S Tier and the dialogue has tons of variation from funny to serious, you could just enjoy it for its excellent craftmanship). For some people smooth challenging gameplay in rogue likes is enough to keep them playing, for me thats not enough. I need atleast some character/story motivation and not just the gameplay rewards to keep me going. I also can never play an arcade game like Pacman for a long time, it gets boring very quick to me. The only exceptions to that for me are games like Mario or Turtles in Time (Final Fight/Streets of Rage and so on).

@@pebble312 Because Mr. Beast popularized it, and made it into an actual thing, an actual style. It's the same thing with every style that becomes popular because someone does it well, then people start poorly copying it. Almost nothing is truly original, there's always examples of people having done something before it gets popular, but it only becomes an issue when a certain style becomes overused. Soyface thumbnails and overly animated people with exaggerated emotions are one such style. They certainly existed for a LONG time before Mr. Beast really entered the scene, but he popularized them within the genre of Mr. Beast-like videos. They all look the exact same, act the exact same, and don't have a sliver of true creativity to them, and it's an annoying trend. Before Mr. Beast it wasn't a trend, it was isolated incidents. It's like filthyfrank is holding KZbin together,and when he left the entire website became an online cold war. Old well constructed memes vs modern memes
@bonbob95122 жыл бұрын
youtube 2016 is a literal warzone and my personal favorite era cause of Felix, Brad, and Romanian being dumbasses and the way they edit the PewDiePie videos. And then 2017-beyond came and it's like a lo-fi playlist on loop
@GordonSlamsay Жыл бұрын
that's a good way of putting it. lo fi is alright, but you hear one, you've heard the all. sort of like today's KZbin.

KZbin was way less toxic back then. Sure, there was more offensive content, but less people chose to take offense

Guys, theres always gonna be knock off channels. There were Pewdiepie clones, there were Game Grumps clones, there were Leafy clones- hell, there were Game Theory clones and still are some. Like, if you're not established in some niche, you're most likely a video essayist, a review channel, a Mr. Beast clone, or an Iceberg video channel (which have more or less overtaken top 10 channels in terms of popularity). Thats just what's popular right now. Some of those are always gonna be around (like, there were video essayists before now and there will still be some after they lose this level of popularity), but others will surely fade away at some point once the format grows stale only to come back 5-10 years later.

It wasn't that long ago either. We don't realize how lucky we are to be here to witness mid-2010 youtube. Frank left at the perfect time, on his own accord for his health and not a fall from grace. His videos were the definition of "it's about the message".

The Filthy Frank and "Pewdie Frank" era were glorious because some of the most original/raw content came out. Back then, you couldn't make a career of being a YTber, so the ones that truly wanted to be good at YTubing and not just make money out of it were plenty. In Felix's case, it was the time when he really seemed to want to retain the crown of being the biggest. Heck, he was relishing in it and knew he had an opportunity to become bigger. But alas, shit happens and people grow old and tired of the race. Just glad he made it out great despite the...stuff that happened between 2014 and 2018.

Honestly such a good time. I was still in school/university so lived a pretty carefree life, and being able to catch the newest FF videos and other content from the boys was just the icing on top of the cake. I feel like I'm genuinely nostalgic for this time now, hopefully KZbin can go back to being like this someday.

2:40 - 5:00 this reminds me of how comic books used to use onomatopoeias like boom over an explosion to emphasize it but now a days people have over used it. If you emphasize everything, then nothing stands out and is emphasized and you just sounds like a crazy person yelling.
