You Can Do It Joe! I smoked for around 30 years, and last year my dad passed from emphysema. I decided to quit this year and get back in shape, as I just hit 50 in march. Well, it's been 4 months since I quit, and I feel so much better, I used working out as a replacement, and now well on my way to looking and feeling so much better. So just do it, It will help you in the long-run.

Very good! I stopped smoking (cigarettes, cigars, cloves, pipe... you name it) 8 years ago. One of the best choices I ever made... of course the heart palpitations helped hasten & strengthen my resolve. Cravings came & some times I still miss it, but I'm not gonna have a heart attack to puff some smoke from a burning stick... now, if I could only kick this crack habit...

Thank you for your honesty. I have never smoked/chewed but what I struggle with is binging and closet/secret eating along with lying about what and when I've eaten. We all have struggles and you sharing what you struggle with helps me realize we all have our issues and can overcome them. All the best to you!

Hey Joe! Keep fighting until you know longer need it. I've been addicted to smoking for the longest time and now I'm in my third year clean, and I can tell you from my personal experience that by the 3rd month you will no longer think about it. It will be easy and you will easily do it knowing that you did one of the hardest things people try to do and can't, which is eat healthy and work out (you don't even have real cheat meals for god sake) I support you all the fucking way from MOROCCO.

Although it's not 100% healthy, i think you could benifet from what im doin. To treat myself once or twice a week i will smoke allitle bit off pot to relax and ease the pain

Appreciate it buddy, you're a boss... I quit smoking 3 months ago. You just need to remember it's all mental, you're stronger than physical withdrawels. The second you get over that hump where you get use to not putting it in your mouth as a daily habit it becomes so much easier. Don't let yourself think about it, and when you do what I found worked is constantly telling myself no. I suggest you think about your youtube subscribers... as P.O.G says we are a family, we will support you!

I have also chewed for the last 10 years. I did quit for about a year and started back up again last June. Like you said you will feel tired, sluggish, and out of it for 3-5 days. Get some sunflower seeds or something to chew on. Even though salt isn't good for you, something salty seems to help the chew cravings. Hang in there and Godspeed

Hey, Fellow body builder here and I just want to say. I chewed Straight skoal for 7yrs, and I tell you IT WAS HARD!!!! to quit. everywhere i went always connected me to times that I enjoyed chewing. Best thing I did was remove myself from places I chewed. like my car, by a computer, playing video games. The extra money i saved from not spending $6.48 a can every two days went to gym membership and healthy foods and supplements. I now feel 100% better about the choice i made to stay clean.

Good on you mate, I'm 100% positive you will beat this no problem. You have the discipline to keep up a strict diet and training regime so i'm sure this will falter in comparison. Those qualities from gym bleed over into other aspects of your life like study, work etc and gives you structure. If you can manage to go without cheat meals then i'm sure you can get rid of tobacco quite easily ;) good luck bro!

When I chose to stop smoking after 10 years I found it easier to have a full pack of cigarettes with me at all times. I found it better to say "I chose not to smoke" making it my choice instead of not having any and couldn't smoke. I am a stubborn person and can't handle someone telling me what to do, so I felt making the choice not to do something was better than not being able to. I knew from the past when I ran out of cigarette's I wanted one 10 times more. Just worked for me. Good luck.

hey man, this is going to be rough no doubt but lemme tell you this I have been addicted to cigs since junior high n was a chain smoker for a good 7 years. D only reason i stopped was bec my gf at the time gave me an ultimatum of no sugar walls if i didn't stop lol. My friends were of no help bec all of them smoked, first week was hell couldn't work well, fought with my boss the good thing is you got a lot of supporters man, get thru the 1st week that's the hardest! Cheers from the philippines!

joe, my dad used to smoke heavily but quit 20 years ago. he did it by not looking at the mountain as a whole but by looking at it as a series of steps to climb. when starting to quit, he said to himself, "what's one night without smoking? i can go one night without a smoke." the next week he said to himself, "hey what's one day without it? i can go one day. let's just get through today." that slowly progressed to 3 days, to a week, to 2 weeks, to a month.

When I started working out I quit smoking... That was fucking hard. I had to find something else to do every time I felt like smoking i.e. I was going for a walk or chew gum. Sometimes I called my friends. Luckily I had some friends that stopped the same time I did. I even tried Tic Tac's like in House M.D and it did work to an extent but I was eating so many of those motherfuckers that if I continued doing that I would have diabetes by now xD... I wish you luck man and stay strong! Peace.

You could always try Snus. It is safer than chew. Check it out. I have chewed, but I thought it was pretty nasty. Snus is a lot less terrible if you are looking to cut back rather than going cold turkey.
