Its crazy to think that Kate Vibert, the silver medalist at Tokyo is saying that Olivia Reeves will most likely go down as the greatest US female lifter. Like Bro, your one of the greatest too.

Kate’s outlook on the entire situation and her career in general is very commendable. I very much appreciate it. She should be proud, seems like she is and that’s wonderful ❤

That was brilliant - huge respect to the athletes for being so honest and courageous, and to the makers for delivering a sensitive and insightful look at what it takes to be an elite lifter.

I love Kate. Not just the weightlifter but the person.

Amazing filmmaking as always! It's really interesting to hear the athletes reflect on when and how how they know whether it's the end of the road for them, and you can just feel everybody getting more worn out as we near the end of the block. All of them are incredibly inspiring!

I hope Kate puts one more attempt in. Sounds like she checked out which is understandable but, still one of my favorite athletes to watch and listen to. One last push. She still has it.
@theparadisesnare7 ай бұрын
Being “checked out” is quite different from what she was explaining. She knows she’s approaching the end of her sports career, she’s spoken about it a lot. It’s extremely smart to compartmentalize something like a sport you’re competing in when you’re in her shoes. Like she said, there’s a lot of life to live after competition ends. And she’s obviously eager to give it her all one last time, she moved up a weight class in order to better have a shot at an Olympic slot, because she knows she has no chance beating Reeves for it

@@theparadisesnare unfortunately she did not do well at all at the Euros, hopefully that will give her the kick she needs to show what she can do in Thailand.

Beautifully honest. Great storytelling and direction. The sound is clear, and the music is sober. The editing is a bit rushed in the dialogues, with little room to breathe, but it's been a trend for a time now. I get it. Kudos to everyone involved, and I wish you the accolades you deserve.

Idk about Kate's point in the car, I mean she has an Olympic medal and performance. Basically hit the highest level so I'm sure that helps why she can think like that lately. She said lately too not always
@user-gt3kg3yy3w7 ай бұрын
I don't think she meant it in a negative or derogatory way & she did say she hasn't always felt this way. Its a valid perspective and I respect her for having boundaries with the sport. She has a great point- when she's done with the sport, she needs a life, relationships, and identity to get back to.
@Watchingvids017 ай бұрын
@@user-gt3kg3yy3w yeah I’m not saying it’s a bad perspective or bad because everyone needs balance but i definitely think she can say that because shes in a unique position. I think i just didn’t think its nonbiased when she mentions shes not like other lifers who think like that, if she steps back they want to fulfill the dream she has so like some other sport athletes mention you may actually have to have less of a balance. Anyway we dont need to argue or anything, i just thought it was interesting

I relate with alot Oliva Reeves with how she's admitting how she has sacrificed her peak years socially for her career. Shes absolutely right. Either have a good time in college, or be one of the worlds best. cant do both. After college you have no opportunities to make new friends or meet new people, and that honestly is hard to accept and adjust with.
