In a sense, it would he fitting if we had to beat Stafford the first time to get our first Playoff win in 30+ years. Win in the regular season to send him a message! Then win one last time in the NFC Championship game in order to go to our 1st Super Bowl! At the same time, I don't care if we have to get our ultimate revenge and beat either the Vikings or the Packers at home in the NFC Championship game to get our first Playoff win against a division rival to go!! I’m not a fan of this narrative. If you ever played Final Fantasy 7, the protagonist (Cloud Strife), can’t get away from the antagonist (Sephiroth). HE NEVER LEAVES HIM ALONE! Matthew Stafford is like Sephiroth not leaving us alone and always gets in our way.

Most likely scenario is Lions get the 1 and the Rams get the 3. There is no scenario where 1 and 3 can play each other before the NFC championship game. The 1 sits out the wild card round, and either all the division winners win (in which case the Lions would play the 4 in the divisional) or one or more of the wild card teams win (Lions would play the lowest wild card team in the divisional). In the extremely unlikely event that the Lions are the 5 and the Rams are the 4, SoFi would still be a Lions home game.

Anyone who doesn't think Detroit will do well to have a 1st round bye doesn't understand the NFL. No, the Lions won't be "rusty" from having a week off. Home Field advantage, additional rest, and recovery time for our injured players. PLUS, the fact that the 1st seed needs to only win 2 playoff games to make the superbowl.Those factors are more important than any other argument to fall to a lower seed. Detroit needs to dig deep and WIN their final 2 regular season games, regardless of how other teams fare during the games this week and next. All of the players can rest during the bye week. I don't care whom Detroit plays in the playoffs, and neither should you. Detroit can and will beat anyone enroute to a superbowl victory.

Rams (9-6) have 3rd seed going into last night's game while the south both have (8-7). With the way rams are playing they'll get 3rd seed which means there's no way lions will face them on the wild card. Worst seeding lions can get is 5th seed as they'll have the tie breaker over packers. If anything the lions could face the rams in the nfc title game. That would mean rams win their wild card and maybe beat the eagles in the divisional round. Also assuming our lions win their divisional rd to go to nfctg.
