ive been loving this series ever since it popped up in my recommended, i hope one day your like splitsie or laststand gamers and you have 100's of thousands of people tuning into your videos. you inspire me in my personal space engineers world every time i watch.

I agree with you, bridge is large box like you were leading us to believe. Simple slim and raise job to create con tower. I believe raising it a block or three would be ideal, trim a couple block into create a throat up to the bridge. Slope from the back and ramps to door, glass like you already have in the front and create overhang. Sleek bridge con tower with total view of your land yacht

Should sorta make it like a cruise ship bridge to put a spin on the land yacht

The windows stopping halfway around I think is what makes it look like an amazon delivery box that got squashed on one end and left on the top. I like the idea of dropping it down a bit and slimming it down, but it will kill the view. Maybe just extend the windows around it and build in some corner blocks that clamp it down some more, maybe some trusses, should look fine. I also like the two block ceilings, that'll be nice especially when you get all the displays you're going to want up and running. I'd consider keeping that. You'll find things to fill it, no matter how big it is. Whatever you build up there should be completely disposable because it's going to get wasted when the shooting starts anyway. Great view for riding in normally, but you're going to need an auxiliary bridge that's deeper in the ship where the servers live and that's nicely protected by a heavy armor, at least, roof and floor. I prefer the blast door blocks for that because they don't deform when damaged and it keeps things running in a pinch. That can be more compact. It's also not a bad idea to have the combat bridge quite easily accessible from the main bridge itself, and have a survival kit in there, so that's where you'll pop out if your clone gets shot up. Perhaps consider when you are showing something and pointing at it with the mouse, not circling around with the cross hairs as it makes the entire screen whirl, and it's quite distracting from what you're pointing out. Particularly reading the to do list. It's just something you do in game that doesn't really translate well to the recording. Overall, it's an incredible build and you've done a really amazing job on it. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Your bridge looks like someone has placed a large box onto your rover. Which is basically what the bridge is: a large mostly empty box. I would have built it more like the conning tower of a submarine or the tower of an aircraft carrier: tall and sleek. Probably shaped like the radar dome on top of an AWACS aircraft. I'd limit the interior to 5 wide or less (keeping your helm + 2 consoles layout on the front face) and 3 long. And with those dimensions, I'd make the interior 1.5 blocks tall.

I think if you add some bracing forward and to the sides of the bridge, perhaps using some beam blocks so it appears to be supported and also part of the superstructure, rather than just squatting on top. The same can be achieved with some colored panels on the outsides. I always did two saves: Episode ## start and Episode ## end. That way if I did something off camera and something happened I could always roll back to that end save. The deployment/storage of the drills might not be automateable, but with a bit of patience it can be setup on button press, and then just need the script run. In fact can probably set that up with buttons to run with the proper arguments as well.

So my thoughts on the bridge, I would personally try to lower the bridge into the superstructure if this rover is going to go into battle. So where you have the ribs of the rover, behind the first rib you have some solar panels. Take out those solar panels and see how much room you have under them without interfering with anything. If you have 2-3 blocks of space, i would advise putting the bridge there. This would allow the bridge to be a bit more protected. It would also let you have a larger platform on the top of the rover for the main gun, as i am not sure if your current spot is going to be big enough depending on what weapon you are going to make. Current one might be ok for a large missile turret, but for a railgun, its not big enough. Atleast i dont think it is. I could be wrong. It does just look like a very large box sat on the top of the rover right now though. Could try just lowering it down 2 blocks so it blends in a little better, but then im also unsure as to why the bridge is so large. You could try making it a quarter the size, keep it in the same place and split the current bridge into 4 individual buildings, then just delete 3 of them. This would give a little asymmetry to the build and would allow the main turret some sort of forward action as at the moment, it looks like the bridge would be in the way. Lots of ideas to try out. Im currently building my own large rover, i say large, its about a third the size of yours, LOL.

In regard to the bridge.. Place a mock turret where it needs to be for a sense of shape, then you can work out if you want a bridge atop or an internal C&C. As others mention a conning tower, but it would also look off due to the shape you're after with the rover, and creating a blindspot with your turret.

Got a good suggestion for you stick a bunch of pistons 8 to 10 underneath the Rover that way if a wheel gets blown up you can Jack it up and replace it

Your bridge needs a little more gerbiling ^_^ . Finding the blocks are always difficult but the first side is the good side o7 .
@death13a2 күн бұрын
Bridge definetly feels off. Either make it smaller or way bigger (containing quality of life stuff such crew rooms, bar, CnC.) Consider making it like on aircraft carriers on the one side. 😊

You would try and find a place for a reactor! You could have an event controller turn it on when all other power sources are to low or not existent, and turn it off when things are better, to save on fuel!
@quantumchief2 күн бұрын
Its a possibility and i do have space for one however i have almost no uranium so it would be a very limited amount of power
@randallvolk84372 күн бұрын
@@quantumchief if you need more you always breakdown some rail-sabos, of corse this would only be for the times when power is more important then ammo. You would rather have one and not need it, than need it and not have one. Maybe you could make it isolated form the conveyor network so you decide when it gets fuel and how much!

Yoooo I fucking love mayday!! And a bunch of Laura brehm and tha fat rats songs they have a really beautiful one called the calling I do think you could try maybe lower and add some more angles to the bridge and see if that helps Also the orange side is definitely a way to go :) I also assume you’d be aware and thought it through properly but I believe with an event controller you can detect a solar panels effeciency aka day/night essentially and that can turn the batteries on/off of recharge (I don’t belive batteries recharge if there turned off so you have to do recharge on/off) I do love how all inclusive the space engineers community is, I feel like there’s never really a new youtuber who doesn’t get even a small boost of a following pretty quickly after starting a new series and then that may draw the attention of a slightly bigger youtuber and it just chains up, especially with keen been so ontop of it with there community highlights too, it’s very wholesome Also I fucking love the idea of coin game grinder put but because it’s a subgrid it’ll grind your main grid aka your ship, I was gonna say you could have a wall of grinders on your main grid but even then if you had a wall push ship into the grinders that wall would get ground, tho you could try using extended pistons because u don’t think they’ll grind the fully extended arm bit, atleast I know it’s hard too as a player if not impossible Could you place the piston drill set on the opposite side of the grinder? Or was that where you had that small unwelded ship
@arlangaming30222 күн бұрын
you do realise that the grinder pit will actually grind your grid because its on pistons and is a sub grid.

on my big rover i have a event controller looking at my solar panels to shut of my refinerys at night. then i can drive though the night whitout a problem. my only source of power is solar.

was curious why dont' you use PAM? or does your computer not like to many scripts running? Reason I asked is because pam gets a lot of resources without worring over building a new push drill everytime. And you can put it on any ship. Very easy to set up. Can also do cargo runs with it, though new ai blocks can do taht too now
@quantumchief12 сағат бұрын
In all honesty the main reason I don’t use PAM is because I don’t really know how to set it up, it’s something I plan on learning
