Since Adolf Hitler's rise to power, the Jews of Germany had suffered years of harsh anti-Jewish policies, harassment and public humiliation. The Nazis wanted the Jews to never feel safe or welcome again. With the Third Reich's expansion and the start of the Second World War, more and more European Jews fell victim to persecution, ghettoisation and violence.
It was hard to imagine that the crimes against them could get any worse. But by December 1941, the Nazis began preparing for a "Final Solution of the Jewish question".
It aimed at nothing less than the extermination of all Jewish life in Europe.

Profound statement of truth that cuts deep into any heart with empathy and compassion. One cannot wrap your head around this level of deep dark evil much less experience it. It is a life sentence of terror memories which could never leave your mind. Very few of the perpetrators were at the Nuremberg trials. The offspring of this mentality walk among us. This is the mindset they grew up with. I also think of the "little" they have done to teach society how we can help troops with the inevitable PTSD they return with. Hiroshima saved the lives of the rest of the Japanese, they were so hell bent on fighting till the end if it wasn’t used they’d fight till Japan invaded and taken over, if the allies didn’t use them America and Britain would’ve invaded the Japanese mainland, and that would’ve resulted in the loss of more life than was lost during those two nukes

I totally agree with Pär - no matter how many you have read or watched about Auschwitz-Birkenau, when you go there the horror is beyond your imagination. I have exactly the same experience as him, when I was in Oswiecim for the second time - I left my friends in front of the concentration camp and go somewhere else in the city. I couldn't bear it for the second time.

Its in the middle of the woods near Hooghalen, Drenthe, Netherlands. Very scary place, Westerbork deported the most Jews of whole of WW2. They deported more than 57.000 to Westerbork, scary.

This is something that is horrible and inhumane cruelty beyond belief that must not never be repeated. To do that, despite how awful it is, this must be preserved so everyone can learn from this. Holocaust deniers can deny all they want, but they must never have their way and their claims must be rendered irrelevant because to deny this is to deny history and for this to be repeated. The song itself is good, but it quite depressing, sombering, sinister, and ominous. The song may not be fun, but still good in a dark way, but must be remembered. All generations must learn from this. It is our responsibility and to have every right to resist such inhumane cruelty from happening again as well as anything that mirrors it. sadly as technology advances, such things are to be repeated again and again. I mean, the US dropped 2 nukes, killing 200 thousands people, most of them were civilians, just one year after the discovery of the camps. not to mention, with the globalization of the economy and trading, it is pretty much impossible to punish countries that commit such actions, if said countries are the big and rich ones. So things like Geneva Convention, or the UN, WTO, pretty much became useless and only applies to the weak and small nations. it's a sad world, but us human has been the same since forever. The more technology advances, the worse and quicker way we can kill our own kind.

I went to the museum of Tolerance in high school. In the beginning of the tour you’re given a card of a child who went through the Holocaust, at the end you find out if they survived or died. Luckily the boy I got survived, I carried his picture in my wallet for years to remind myself to never forget.

I know there will be a lot of people sharing their experiences in the comments here, but I feel like I should give my own two cents. My dad is the son of a Survivor. His father was a Romanian Jew who spent the rest of his life never uncovering his arms as he hid the number there. He passed away a few years before I saw my first Sabaton concert, but when my dad and I saw this song performed live it was more than moving for both of us, especially my dad. To the entire band, thank you for covering this topic which needs to be remembered. Thank you for not backing down on it. And most importantly, thank you for still playing it live. From a Jewish family who loves your music, seeing that song live and being in that crowd when you did will forever be in my mind.

I have a story about his. I have a playlist on my phone, called "The best of Sabaton" featuring my favourite Sabaton songs which I listen to on the bus in the morning when I'm going in for work. "Final Solution" is not on that playlist. But in my opinion, "Final Solution" is the best Sabaton song. It's not one I want to listen to very often. I only listen to this song about once a month, usually after I watch some documentary or a War Against humanity episode. It helps me remember. It's not a cool song. It's not inspiring. It doesn't make me happy. But it makes it all feel real. It reminds me that these things really happened. So that's why I listen to it, when I need to. Thank you Sabaton, for helping me, for helping us all, remember.

I find the line "lost to the world" especially touching in this song. The entire song is very emotional of course, but I think this line cries out how we, the world after the Holocaust, miss its victims. This may not be as real as it was right after the end of the war, with a lot of people remembering specific victims, but you can still imagine the real loss of humans because of this line. This line is so good because it does not just remember the horror, it remembers the people.

This conversation and the reason behind why one should appreciate Sabaton for keeping history alive and for presenting it without bias, reminded me of a part of V's speech from "V for Vendetta": "But who was he really? What was he like? We are told to remember the idea, not the man, because a man can fail. He can be caught, he can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world. I've witnessed first hand the power of ideas, I've seen people kill in the name of them, and die defending them..." This was presented in that scene as a good aspect but, at the same time, it shows that history can come back and bite, if you even intend on forgetting it!

We love Sabaton for a lot of reasons. They can turn things that were horrors of the past into a memorial in music, so we never forget what happened. So we never repeat what happened, and honor those who didn't make it out. Songs like these, they arent the most uplifting, the aren't the power metal songs you put on because you want to get jazzed up, these are ones you put on to remind ourselves of our humanity, to never forget what happened and to keep the memories of those alive. Songs like these are the most important ones in my oppinion, because of that.

this song always brings tears, i remember back in 2006 my Junior year of high school, the band had a trip over to Germany, Austria, and Czechoslovakia (now Czechia) 2 of the biggest memories i have from the trip is one playing with a soccer ball in the middle of Prague with people from all over Europe on the plaza in front of the astronomical clock. the other was are trip to the Mauthausen Concentration camp. Just like Par if you ever get a chance to visit one of these places please do. it might be heavy and you will be over come with emotions, but you need to at least once. To read about it, to watch film on it, to listening to are favorite band sing about something so heavy, but to see one of these camps it will be burnt into your mind forever. Thank you Sabaton for making this song and thank you to everyone who works on the channel for making this video. never again but never forgotten.

One of the darkest chapters in history. I'm truly glad that you devote such effort in keeping the memory and warnings alive. This song is one that never leaves me untouched, I can jump up and down in front of the stage to Fields of Verdun or Resist and Bite but The Final Solution just sends me to a really dark place in human history.

Perhaps the darkest song ever but was so well written and served once more as a reminded that something like this should never be repeated again. Sabaton pays homage to all the victims who perished all due to the actions of a sick and cruel evil leader and others who served under him... no one deserved to die this cruelly.. I first heard this and I felt how dark this song I knew it was hard for me to sing along with it due to how depressed I felt but this song has become among my top faves to hear. Again Sabaton did amazing to write this song and Indy covered this with such heavy hearts to once again show us this and to the current generation to be remined of what had happened in our past history and I can't stress enough that the Final Solution should never happen again. If anyone of you haven´t watched it yet (or just want to remember it), search for the 9th epizode (out of 10) of the one of the greatest series of all times - Band of Brothers. Its name is "Why We Fight" and it containes a brilliant depiction of liberating something, that (not only) US soldiers must have gone through, when they were freeding such camps. Starting with the scene when a soldier sprinting through the forest in horror, reaching for commanding officer and when finally finding him, still not able to say a word in a terror and when asked "what have you found? Speak." he simply replies with tears in his eyes "I ... I don´t know..." and lead them all back to site... ...find it and watch, it is really strong part, and even stronger after you know main characters for 8 episodes so far, what they all have seen and been through, and still are overwhelmed with such atrocities.

I know I'm a little late (a year holy damn) but I actually own the series on DVD and watch it from time to time and everytime I reach that episode I need to take a deep breath before going into it and I get goosebumps every single time. I went on a guided visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau yesterday, and it was so difficult to do. Walking though the blocks and just thinking about the horrors they went though. When I ended the tour I felt sick.

I think it was rather personal for Hitler: since a Jewish doctor failed to save his sick mother on her deathbed. What made it worse was the Communist revolution in Germany in which the leaders were Jews.

I actually saw many Holocaust related documentaries in the past 2-3 weeks, by coincidence (War Against Humanity, or just by YT recommendation). I might think I am desensitized by now, but again I see the video footages of these people in this Sabaton History episode and think "gosh these people did not made it out alive"... And start to cry. I think one can never look at these video footages without at least a shiver down the spine.
