While you may consider uOPL better, it won't remain so. We all know by now it's not just abandoned, the source has been pulled so no one else can even pick it up. Other interfaces and dashboards will fill the void and XEB+ is getting better and better. I'm glad to see you're continuing your work. Thank you 😊

I knew it was abandoned almost as soon as my last video went up, but I didn't realize they took down the source code. The craziest part is I was invited onto the uOPL project as a maintainer just a couple days after that video. I just checked and the repository's completely gone.

@sync-on-luma It's crazy how fast it all happened. The silver lining I guess is there is now fresh ideas and talent that are being given a chance to shine. Keep shining bro. 👊

I'm glad you decided to merge your work with XMB Pro. I'll be moving on to that whenever it releases because it's even more like the PSP version of XMB and that's just lovely hahaha. Until that point, I'm on here and will be enjoying the UPBDP Neutrino experience, it's honestly the one thing that makes Slim PS2s extremely nice to use. Really glad the cumulative work of the community and you brought it at this point. I seriously feel what you feel with uOPL when I use XEB+ neutrino, and that'll probably go on with XMB Pro. So yeah, keep up the good work, and thank you for all that you've done.

Great stuff! It's been fun following this over the last several months. As a modding noob, I have to ask: When you've finished with everything, is there going to be an updated setup video for this, or will previous videos work just fine?
@sync-on-luma21 сағат бұрын
I've been trying to keep the tutorial sections such that you can watch everything in order and anything that changes about the process will get corrected in newer videos. I have thought about creating a front-to-back setup guide once everything is in a more complete state, but I'm not sure when that will be or if I'll go through with it.

Fair enough! No worries!

It's great to see such passion for PS2 stuff. I'm starting to wonder how hard it would be to work with the neutrino people to develop udpfs which was meant to replace the bizarre fat32 requirements of udpbd...

Sorry for the question that may seem "stupid", but is it possible to set the video mode of XEB+ like OPL? Since I use a PS2 connected to a CRT monitor and modified to have a RGBHV signal for 480p games, the possibility of having the OPL interface in VGA 640x480 mode is very convenient for me and I was wondering if there was a similar option. The last time I tried XEB+ (quite some time ago) it didn't seem to be there, or maybe I didn't check well. 😅Many Thanks!

I don't believe that's currently possible, at a least not easily. I was doing more looking into GSM recently, and I have an idea for a flexible implementation that might be able to do what you're asking. It's still too early to say when it'll be ready or if it will even work at all.

I'll definitely be switching to whatever launcher you've got once it's all finished. UOPL has pretty great compatibility, but it still has the occasional crashes on the menu and such.

My only question is: does it support pops running on smb? That's the only reason i haven't updated from opl anniversary
@sync-on-luma7 сағат бұрын
I don't think the POPS plugin currently supports SMB, and I'm not the one involved with developing it, so I can't say if or when it'll happen.

And what sound will be implemented on the PS2's XEB+ when starting it? Will it be the same sound as the PS2 intro? And you will put a short video of the game's gameplay in that little square that shows the image of the game! And also, will it be possible to select all video output resolutions, just like the PS3?
@sync-on-luma17 сағат бұрын
To answer your questions: 1) Adding sound to XEB+ should be possible, but is something that would need to be done by the main developers. I have no idea if they're planning to add sound, but if they are I'm certain it's a low priority. 2) I can guarantee that video previews are never going to be a thing for a myriad of reasons both technical and practical. 3) Depneds on what you mean by "change resoultions" There may be a way to integrate GSM into either XEB+ or my plugin, but that possibility is still in the research phase.
@Rianmoises140316 сағат бұрын
@sync-on-luma Oh yes, I understand my friend. and about changing the "video resolution" type similar to the PS3. If you are using the component cable or an HDMI adapter for the PS2, which supports the high resolutions it provides, to make the XEB+ interface more modern and beautiful with more vivid colors. And you can also force games to run at that screen resolution, just like GSM. Would it be possible to leave it natively like this? And for the resolution that is the standard "480i" with the composite cable, if you were to connect to a TV that only supports this image resolution, with the RGB cable.

yes, I would really like everything to work stably in the xmb theme, both on ps3 and psp. then I would always give up opl and be happy.

So, no IGR?
@sync-on-luma8 сағат бұрын
Not it this update. I might happen eventually, but it's likely a ways off.
@LucasHenrique-vu9yj8 сағат бұрын
@@sync-on-luma I think if you implement IGR and the ID detection thing to use "infinite memory cards" type of devices like MCP2, etc., your plugin would be pretty much "perfect", I would say. I wish I had it on the standard XEB+ without the XMB Pro theme. Can you do it? Will you do it? If you make those features only on the XMB Pro, I think it would be unfair for those people who don't want to use it. I just want to use XEB+ the way it is with your plugin and that's it. I would be satisfied with IGR and ID detection if you implemented it
@ogxboxmike20 сағат бұрын
Personally, I didn't like XMB Pro. Its too slow when starting up, especially if you have a lot of PS1 Popstarted games installed. If they can fix that issue then I would be happy to give it another try. On the flip side.... The only thing missing from your XEB+ Neutrino Launcher plugin now is Game-ID compatibility. I would love to see that added to the standalone version for those of use that have MCP2's and don't want to use the XMB Pro theme. Down the line somewhere when XEB+ 1.0 actually releases, XMB Pro probably wont even be compatible... Have you considered that?
