It will take about 2 years for game to be that intensive

I don’t even know what I love more, the finals itself or its developers. I played Apex Legends for 2700 hours, mastered 3 times in seasons 7, 8 and 9. In recent seasons, developers have been releasing skins as content updates. They don’t really listen to the audience, like, come on guys, fix the servers, this is the fifth year. When the Finals came out I was very happy. I really loved the Battlefield series, but it has been dead for the last few years, so I played apex. And then a game came out that was better for me than Battlefield and Apex. Embark inspires me more confidence than Respawn, especially since it is already known that the people who made Apex at release no longer work at Respawn. The main thing is that the developers listen to us

I'm not surprised the player counts have already gone back to 30k, will probably be the same as S1 player counts in a week. This game is boring and repetitive. Me n my mate will often get rigged matches cuz of the engagement based mm, like a teammate who's clearly just installed the game whilst we're facing bumsweats who play like it's a second job.

I’ve been looking all over the place and I can’t get any answers, how the heck does the ranked system work. I played with my friend for all the placement matches and absolutely carried every time but yet I got silver 1 and he got gold 3. And I’ve been grinding ranked since the release of the season and gotten past at least the first round nearly everytime but my rank hasn’t moved

I was one of those who stopped playing early 2024, but that's only because I had the battle pass done and was waiting for season 2 to get back on it. Plus my time is limited and had games like Alan wake 2 to enjoy. For me it's the sign of a great game is f you can take a couple of months break and happily dive back in for a few months and just keep going like that. For example when I gave warzone a break nothing made me want to dive back in, and on the other side I still play battlefield 1 regularly

One of the biggest reasons I love The Finals: the destructable environment. It's a huge feature that all big titles are missing (ehi, where are the good old BBC2 times with FrostByte?). The game is fresh, innovative. It force players to cooperate, playing solo makes no sense. Embark did a good job, let's hope your prophecy will turn true!

Honesty really loving this game. Changes i wanna see would be multiple people in practice modes (mainly to 1v1 the homies lmao), and maybe even an expansion too it potentially similar too apex. I'm dominating lobbies by learning new tech and the countering in this game is so easily to deal with with arena props. And other games I've played haven't had a game where I don't have to switch my kit entirely to counter someone else. God I love this game sm

I remain cautiously optimistic. The game is still young and (as a software developer) as they add new abilities and mechanics, they can write themselves into a difficult level of complexity to maintain. We saw a lot of this with Apex. Particularly with abilities like Catalyst spikes having to interact with the environment and other abilities. Hoping they don't ever do anything as greedy as Apex which I think is probably less likely, but it's definitely possible that they head that direction. They have a LOT going for them. But they have to make the right decisions at the right pace to make it long lasting.

The issue is most distracting at long ranges where the outline isn't that vsibile and the current AA method that doesn't downscale your resolution creates horrible ghosting artifacts at that range. Also we're not shooting outlines, we're shooting player models while also trying to control recoil, as your gun model and visual recoil already obscures targets that are far away already, the ghosting artifacts left behind make it 10x worse.

They will never implement what you want. If you cant see shit get a bigger monitor or put ur face closer, maybe lower your FOV. Also, the finals might be the most visible pvp game i ever played lmao, the colors and contrasts are almost cartoonish, is pretty much mirror edge, a game where visibility was the priority

You will catch up in about a couple days of play, its not like other FPS games (which is sort of a problem for content creators and people trying to make it "competitively"). There is not much going on--as someone who pretty much reached the pinnacle of skill in season 1.

To be fair, metas and balance changes in a multiplayer game has always been a never ending struggle no matter what and the playerbase will usually not be satisfied no matter what meta the game is currently in after enough time passes and the meta gets stale. Best to give it time for them balance things that might be too strong out while trying to experiment on counterplay as the new Season has only just started.

The Finals really saw the hype around small team skirmishes, and capitalized well on it. I outright dropped Apex for The Finals, and couldn't even go back thanks to the difference in control schemes. Love what Embark's doing, and I know there's more that they're planning that we can't even see yet. We already see private matches, everything in the 2.0 update, Season 2, all the lore (for people that care about that; I just love the purple and glitchy aesthetics), and everything else! Here's to the future of THE FINALS 🫡

Tournament mode already has a way to mash many many teams together and result in one winner, but im not sure if that would be the best version for Esports from both a competitor and viewer POV - so what do you think could/should be the competitive format?

I'm agree. I'm 27 now, I got a life and a lot of responsability but I dream about the finals almost everyday. I Hope this game will grow up, it deserves it!

The finals is one of the greatest games I’ve ever played, despite playing on a steam deck on lowest possible settings at 30 fps

As a controller player I can say the aim assist nerf was necessary and now it’s in a good spot still get juicy one clips but it doesn’t just track people without moving the thumb stick anymore

The game is great and a fresh breath to competitive games for consoles. I was so tired of BR’s and CoD since they were the only “ new “ games on the market lol. And it’s great to see they actually care for the game by consistently updating and patching what’s needed
