It is so nice to see another type of bond instead of the becoming boring stretcher bond, This is what I will be stuck with on a planned house extension but never mind. What a lovely way of finishing off a gable end and adding so much more interest, I may not be able to resist putting one in. Thank you.

Hi there, the centre you see in the video is the arch centre, which is used with all arch construction. The problem with a bullseye centre is it is very difficult to take out after the brickwork has been completed and set. The best way to do this is to cut the back board into quarters, it supports the brickwork during construction but collaspes as soon as the front section is removed. I hope this helps

Dry bond is always done on every job. Flemish bond is the most difficult to achieve in whole bond and the dry bond highlighted a break in the bond and as we know the broken bond is best placed below and above an opening. I have many photos that I use in explaining this where it is done incorrectly. The gable end I'm building here had minimal visable courses of broken bond below and above the bulls eye and the rest of the wall was unbroken flemish bond. But well done for noticing.

Hi Rob, Some of the comments are a complete pile of bollocks, as I went on a brickie course and wish it had got me to your level. What I saw was a man completely confident with his work, and more than able to tackle the tricky jobs the 'cowboys' promise but fail to deliever. Hope you get more work with this video, as it shows you have got talent.

This is an axed bullseye on account that the radius is less than 200mm which would mean if a wedged shaped joint was used it would be very unsightly. From the angle of the camera it is difficult to determine these are cut but if you look at the line going across the brickwork you can see the horizontal brick highlights that the voussoirs are cut as they are not parallel to the edges of the brick. I hope this clarifies the matter for you. There are pictures of the finish gable showing this.
