👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌!!!! He's very lucky to lay bricks alongside you Rob! You remind me of my college tutor, so much pride in your work 👌 Loved my 3 years at college, building assessment pieces, learning different things, then went on site and been building square boxes with Jack walls for the last 6 years🤦🏻♂️. I'd walk off site in a heartbeat and take a massive pay cut to work with and learn from a true bricklayer like yourself, sadly there's just not many of you around these days🤷♂️ love the videos👍✌️

Lovely Rob, I won apprentice of the year many moons ago with my spiral pier. Only a brick and a half. I have built a few since then but not many. I really like your template or pair should I say, great idea. I have always used the square at the base and plumb up from the angle marks. I will make a mental note of yours if I ever get to do another one. On a tangent, I was in Malawi Africa in 1991 with three other lads delivering medical equipment, long story. We were driving through this remote village and I saw a spiral pier on a porch, I stopped the car and try to explain to the lads that this was extraordinary to see such a thing. No one understood but this old trowel.

Very impressive, there's so much going on here in 3 dimensions, I imagine it would feel similar to learning to drive with so many separate projections to account for. There's a lot of Rothschild properties in my neck of the woods. Very distinctive and individual chimney architecture, even on what would have been estate workers cottages back in the day. Good to see the tradition continues.
