I think they did make him a special series of McCarty with a tremolo. It wasn't a signature model but it was spec'd just the way he wanted, and they made a limited run. Could be wrong.

I recently acquired a Fiore, and after having owned a lot of guitars over the years was really surprised to find that within a matter of hours it became one of my favorites of all time. The one thing I haven't heard anyone talk about yet is how this thing just RINGS. I've compared it side by side to some very nice S-style guitars, and the sustain and clarity just blows them away (I've literally caught myself more than once double-checking the signal chain to make sure there wasn't a compressor or boost inline!). Can't recommend this one enough.

Man with a PAF and the coil split, this is seriously versatile. And the TONE

It doesn't split; it switches both from series to parallel. Both coils are 'on' all the time, rather than a split--which takes one coil out of the circuit.

Yeah. PRS absolutely killed it with this one. Getting an ash body and bolt on maple neck with that switching and PRS playability is fantastic. Not to place names, but having Fender type appointments with PRS feel is kind of genius.

Hey Adam, your guitar is so cool. What about the tremolo? Those PRS (not Floyd Rose like the one in the PRS Dustie Waring) tremolos look very limited. My question maybe is silly but... Is it possible to play something extreme/metal with it (like Steve Vai, Satriani, Pantera, Van Halen, etc.)? Thanks.

I played every PRS including all artists models and never liked any of them.... until I played this guitar today. Wow. I love the pickups on this guitar. The pickups are so well balanced I'm his sound. The humbucker isn't over powering. It's just so well made. Just wish it had stainless steel frets but we know how Paul feels about stainless steel frets lol

This may well be the perfect guitar for me. While I do have an exceptionally great Custom 22 with a rosewood neck, and it plays better than anything, my #1 is still my old trusty HSS American Deluxe strat. It's just so versatile, and the Lindy Fralin single coils just sound so damn good. I've dreamed of combining the awesome playability and craftsmanship of the PRS and the sound and versatility of the HSS strat with boutique pickups. This just may be it! I gotta get my mitts on one of these!! Thank you PRS! Rock on, Brian! 🎸

Would be great to get something like a crossover between this and the silver sky in the s2 line or even SE. maybe bring in a core version with figured tops etc as well. Doing this in a single cut body would also bring a whole new group of costumers that prefer those. I’m a PRS fanboy and these solid body single coil things are scratching an itch you don’t get with the rest of the core lineup.

It annoys me that PRS doesnt have more HSS (or SSH depending what you like to call it) guitars. I have 1988 studio model with that config and I love it. It also has a 25" scale length which absolutely rules. I would buy one of these babies in a heartbeat if it had a shorter scale length.

Beyond the look, I have mixed feeling about this guitar. When played in isolation, it sounds ok, with a decent amount of clarity and definition. Although not as clean as the Silver sky. However, in mixes, especially with gain, even with just a slight amount of gain, it sounds a bit muffled to me 🧐. Used headphones to watch this video and I have had the same feeling watching other demos.

You aren’t accounting for amp set up. There are more than a few ways to brighten your sound up! I listened to this in my car, and the neck pickup had plenty of bite in both the sound demo, and the playing to the backing track.

Is it not possible to just use the humbucker in single position? or combined in single with the middle pickup? if none of the above combinations is possible. Is the volume of the humbucker balanced with respect to the singles? I would appreciate an answer. a greeting.

The Humbucker doesn’t split as wired. The Humbucker in parallel gives a single coil sound, and you can use it either way in all possible configurations.

The one I tested at the Store was extremly heavy, ca. 4 kg (8,82 lbs). So it was waaay heavier than a normal Strat. Is this normal?

This guitar sounds pretty good in this demo and the playability was the best I have experienced so far, but I wish it was made with anything other than Swamp Ash. Korina or Alder would have been much better in my opinion. The Fiore that I tried out had unbearably hollow mids and an overall hollow, non-resonant, and not alive tone and vibe. I would jump on the opportunity to buy 2 Korina bodied Fiore though and leave 1 as a HSS and mod the other to be a 3x P90 guitar.
