Erik: From Canada, thanks for these 'BACK TO BASICS" experiences in these very worrisome Times. It helps to soothe and heals the mind. BTW - and I mean this - I would be OK for a longish (45 to 60 minutes) video of ONLY your Fireboxing stove or a small but warm campfire you keep alive, ASMR I suppose, with you making coffee, or hot drinks and supper. Very slow, crackling Firebox fire. (Night time please). And then I would probably loop or watch for hours as I tried to work through my Work Email, while trying to digest Current World Events. Cheers and let us hope for Peace.

Basically there are two main ways to do it. You either heat the water up until almost boiling, then add the coffe and finish the boil. Afterwards let ist sit for around ~5min (I think that's the way Erik does it). Alternatively, put the coffee in the cold water and heat slowly until almost boiling. Then, very carefully expose to direct heat for a short boil. Let sit for a minute or until the ground coffee has settled.

The absolute BEST time of the year to be in the woods is late winter/early spring. We kinda went from super cold to rain in like 1 week, so I didn’t get to enjoy it this year. Have you tried the firebox nano yet? It’s a lot slower, and requires a little more care, ut as an alcohol stove support/wood stove, it’s pretty awesome. I think the titanium full size firebox is the best overall though. Not too heavy, and burns wood like crazy,

The first minute I noticed the sharp image of the tree bark. It had an unusually uniform pattern to the bark similar to the shingles on the side of a cape cottage. That camera rocks. Great to see you getting out again and it seems spring is creeping up on your area real fast. Those woodpeckers sounded like a Pagan drum circle, I got a kick out of it. Anyway Erik, thank you for another good video and I liked the tag at the end “Free Mind Production” Yes sir, freedom to think. I could do a whole synopsis on that subject but some other place and time. Stay healthy and good work sir. Scott Clancy.

This is exactly what we all needed right now. The serenity of the birds and the wind. The sounds of wood snapping, fire crackling and coffee being poured. I love how you were able to capture the sound of the firebox cooling down. The tinking of metal as it cools. I love my firebox! I won’t lie. I won mine in a KZbin drawing! I absolutely love it!! So far I’ve only tried it at home because I haven’t had a chance to get out there in the woods yet. I’m a twig stove nut so this was right up my alley!😁 Hey Erik, I couldn’t help but wonder… have you done a winter camp video in that exact spot? That spot looked familiar. Anyway… thank you for this so so much and wishing you and yours the best. ✌🏻 NQU

Really beautiful video, as always! When you have to put work in to have your coffee in the wild, you enjoy it even more. But there is one thing I immediately noticed: you need a bigger stove, balancing your precious coffee on a pile of burning sticks is not a good solution! ;-) If you like, maybe check out the models from Lixada, they're really worth their price, which is not too high to begin with. The larger ones of them are wider at the bottom, which really helps feeding them with a top on pot. They are also available in Titanium. I got a large one made of steel which you stick together from five parts plus the pot stand. I also made additional parts to put my Trangia in it using it instead of the windshield and a small grilling grate. I'm very satisfied with it.
