The Firemen is, like SOS and Clock Tower, yet another wildly successful experiment by Human in the disaster-scenario genre of games. It's really too bad that we never received an American release of this one!

Not many people know that this game got a sequel on the Sony Playstation. It never left Japan. The graphics were not too much different, but it had voiced dialogue for all the communication between the firemen, and it had a really good CD soundtrack. It's an odd little game, but a lot of fun. Never played this, but now I want to.

there's also a firefighter game for the ps2, but im not sure if its a sequel to this or just a stand alone game. it's called firefighter f.d 18

Interesting that The Firemen and Ignition Factor came out so close to each other. They're both great firefighting games for the super nintendo

I'm getting a strong Alien Syndrome vibe from this game. That might sound weird, but hear me out. You've got the little roaming fire blob enemies. You've got the little guys that inchworm their way across the floor. You've got the fire "flies" that come in, and you've got the survivors to rescue. Throw in the bosses and the mazes and it's not a re-skin, but a very clever re-imagining. I need to track this down and play it! It looks so fun!

Just finished this game today. I won't be trying PlayStation version though, because it's really not my type of game. I only finished this one cause I have the cartridge and I'm a Snes guy. ABOUT THE GAME: At start It looks difficult but it's not a game to finish in first sit. But learning some hazards and bosses patterns with couple tries looks more fun at the end. It might feel a bit unsubstantial and repetitive at first. But since the game is quite short it's not a problem and It does its job. It has decent balance between not trying to much to be serious but having a nice plot that keeps player involved (tip: keep pressing SELECT to jump text dialogues that will be stuck in your head after 2 or 3 gameplays). The ending is worth watching! All in all I totally recommend It! It's a decent challenge and a good playthrough!

I love this game. I just beat it last night. It was only released in Europe and Japan, but I found out there is an unreleased prototype intended for North America. I also learned there is a sequel on PS1, but only released in Japan.

I 've played this game this year and I did an extra strive just to the end because I thought it possible could be kinda short and I was right. I like the game, the level design is interesting and certainly the chemical between the characters makes you like they and at least little bit, also the character design is 90s charming seal of quality. I think is better that the game is kinda brief because I guess the problem of the game is that its concept can get kinda repetitive but that is balanced with a brief experience. So yeah, The Firemen is a good game. Other firemen game that I like is Firefighter F.D. 18 for PS2. By the way, what can be better that celebrate christmas with a dangerous job and get almost killed by a fire? Not a lot of things for sure.
