Hey guys, I’m really sorry about the technical issues. Something reflected badly and the video wouldn’t focus for the last 3/4 and I didn’t have enough time to re-record. My apologies!

Finished reading the entire thing in just under 24 hours! (a bit unusual for me, but a testament to how good it is). I loved it! A great addition following the events of book 1...I loved the continuing development of Tau and learning more about Tsiora. I also felt that Winter did a great job developing the side characters, especially Hadith, Themba, and Nyah.

Hey man, I'm currently on A Clash of Kings and I'm absolutely loving it so far. Is the 3rd book the best you've read so far, like is it thaaaaat much better than the first two? I hear it's not only the best in the series, but one of the best books ever written.

I'm wondering if you read the same book I did. No violence? There is definitely violence in this book. It may not be described in great detail, but it's enough. Some scenes are nightmares to envision.

Was really not a fan of Tau in book 1, I felt like the whole book was just him being an uncontrollable rage monster. Your review has me slightly concerned bc I was not blown away like everyone seems to be with Rage of Dragons. I remember a booktuber saying Tau should have been name Leroy Jenkins😂 Very interested in the world Evan Winter is building so still excited to read book 2!

Leroy Jenkins? Hmm. Yeah. No comment.

Hey, keep an eye for Winds of Strife ( book one of the dawn less Night series) that will be released on January. I got to read 4 chapters from it and it was great. Emotions based magic with rules, which hunt and day light that get shorter and shorter during the years.

Perfect timing.. great review Mike.. Tau was definitely not my favourite as well but what happened in the end of book-1 made me curious about his choices next.. not encouraging feedback but I am keeping my fingres crossed 🤞I definitely liked few side characters more than him and hopefully new ones will be interesting as well.. 👍 for more underworld.. I will try finishing it before release of RoW.. once again Awesome review 🔥

I have one question that I need to be answered and hope you can help me Mike. Love the book and your channel, and want to know why Tsiora refers to herself with “we” instead of “I.” Was there an explanation I missed?
@mikesbookreviews4 жыл бұрын
Ha ha to be honest I just thought I had missed something because I wasn't sure either. Maybe it was a front to pretend she had the Goddess in her head?
@xaviercopeland27894 жыл бұрын
@@mikesbookreviews maybe that’s what it is. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one confused because it wasn’t explained at all.

When she says "we" she is speaking of herself as a representation all the Omehi people both the lesser and the noble cast of which she rules.

I finished last night and I can definitely say that having that battle scene from Esi’s point of view wasn’t my favorite. I would have liked it better if her going into Ishigo led to something big, but it didn’t.

I'm always amused by people who are tired of cookie cutter characters or protagonists who always make the right choices but push back when they get it. Tau is what? 19 or 20 years old? I've been around people suffering from PTSD so I'm more open minded about what's going on with him.

I ran through the first book. Slogged through this. So many things were unnecessary. Going into their version of hell all the time got old real quick. Tau got a chunk of flesh removed from him, but dude was still beating everyone with way more training than him. Jabari was burned and in weeks/months was on his feet killing elite fighters. Adding the gay characters felt like pandering. It added nothing to the story. The most interesting characters (which were no a lot) were two-dimensional at best.
@isiboremmanueliregbeyen52722 жыл бұрын
No, Tau has more training than them, no surprise he could beat them. You have to "walk" through the first book again to properly understand Tau's experiences in Isihogo.... He got way more extra time to train and fought with demons more devious and aggressive than the best soldiers in the waking world. Time is different in Isihogo (their version of hell) than the waking world. Imagine spending months fighting the fastest and cruelest demons in Isihogo which is just a few days in the waking world.....Of course He could beat the Indlovu..... He fought and killed an enraged Ingonyanma (Their best) in Book one.

Just commenting to say that I love A Link to the Past lol. Also, I thought RoD was okay but a bit overhyped. Not really compelled to pick up the sequel. Maybe someday when the TBR is whittled down.
