hello everyone thanks for watching here's a playlist of all my 007 stuff innit kzbin.info/aero/PL643B5filmfGI4CQlvagcuXQXDa7u0Lms edit: I initially called this vid "The 007 game after GoldenEye" which it technically isn't so I changed it (which might be why ur seeing some comments about it). I did address the GameBoy game in the vid but I should go for clarity first - TND did follow-up GoldenEye in some sense, but yeah it wasn't THE Bond game after GoldenEye. Pls forgiv. Cheers

I had the game as a kid and played the first level so many times. Unfortunately, not really any more. Because at the point you mention, where you have to blow up the box, that was the end for me. My 9-year-old self didn't understand that and that's why I played the first level over and over again. As a child, that doesn't bother you.

Minimme.. I love you , dude. Never stop what you are doing. When I was 14, for Christmas, my grandmother bought me the N64 w Goldeneye...she bought my cousins the PS1 with T.N.D. Goldeneye was obviously amazing and changed FPS gaming forever after, but my cousins were always playing THIS game. It always looked so much more vibrant, colorful and action packed. I wanted it so bad but since I was TEAM 64 hardcore, I never said it aloud. I now have this game on my 3DSXL and it's a cherished part of my 007 GAMES collection. Say what you will about how bad the controls are... this is all being said by a guy going for the world record of OO7NIGHTFIRE for the G.B.A. Thanks so much for the upload. Bravo. Edit: if you ever do a GBA NIGHTFIRE VIDEO ...and need some inside info. Trust me I've got it. This video is 46 minutes long...and I've loved every second of it.

Glad you mentioned the gorgeous vertex lighting/painting, it's one of the best things we lost with the move to dynamic and per pixel lighting, though I adore what raytracing can do from a sheer simulation point of view and all of the niceties it brings with it, I truly miss the lighting-impossibilities devs would paint onto their worlds before lighting a full scene was possible, it really lead to some gorgeous, properly artful games.

Not to mention these drawn textures are done at incredibly low resolution. It's very impressive to make a "realistic" game with so few pixels to work with. Even the low res cartoony look is it's own beloved aesthetic of that era.

Keep in mind the ps1 didnt have a per pixel depth buffer, so drawing had to be done back to front, and geometry had to be carefully sorted to be back to front, or objects in the distance would be drawn over objects close to the camera. All ps1 games levels had to be designed in a way that minimised background geometry being drawn over solid foreground geometry. The amount of columns, coridoors, twists and turns and walls in the indoor sections means sorting is a lot more complex. To help the issue, you can just sort and draw the small part of the level your in, and forget about the rest of it. That's why there's fog in the indoor sections, to cover up the void of empty space.
