They could make 20 million World War 2 themed FPS games, and I would not get tired of them. These games, depending on their quality, give us a unique, if small, perspective on the momentous event that was World War 2. We'll never truly know the horror of being in the kinds of battles they were in. Scores upon scores of well trained and well equipped men fighting for each one's own reasons. The realism of the gore and the blood and the violence (the one complaint I have about this game's graphics is that things like headshots or explosions don't maim the enemy like they did in World at War, and it takes away from the realism to find your enemies looking like someone dumped blood red paint on top of their heads) adds to the intensity of the atmosphere, and helps those who did not experience the war to get some tiny glimpse of what it was like. I really look forward to doing at lets play of it once I get done with Blasphemous and World in Conflict : Soviet Assault.

I agree. The game definetly gives you a small taste of what real soldiers went through during those times, the story gives you a real feel of what it'd be like to be one out of thousands of soldiers back then. Despite the fact that the gore isn't exactly what it should be, the game is a really immersive and somewhat accurate experience and i think that it's probably one of the best stories we've ever gotten in call of duty. I look forward to your lets play :)

Call of Duty has been such a big part of my childhood that I can think about when every game was released and instantly access all the old memories that I had with my friends playing the games right when they came out. The memories go back all the way to Call of Duty 2 for me, and I was only 6 years old then. What I can say though, and probably many others aswell, is that the last Call of duty that came out where it felt like a big thing for me and my friends was Blackops 2....Miss the good old World at War and Blackops days, wish I could go back to when those games were new

I know it's opening sequence and I know that it's arcade shooter but I'm disappointed by the small scale of this level and overall lack of interactivity in sense that this game seems to be more like an interarctive movie rather than game. I still remember playing Allied Assault and Call Of Duty for the first time, back in 2003. Those games seem to be more fun because your character actually was a part of the show rather than a spectactor, like in this one.

Its almost 2018 and its a gameplay from 2014. Isn't their anyone inside the company to raise awareness that it is not all about graphics. If you've developed a proper PHYSICS based game engine with better physics in environment, sand bags, reacting smoke, destructive buildings, ragdoll effects, physics driven character animation, etc.... well you would have nailed it. Unfortunately this has only become a milking cow. PLEASE PLEASE Play and learn from Uncharted 4... :( At least on the brighter side at they didn't fake it like Ubisoft always does...

Poor Germans, had the most advanced tanks and planes, yet didn't figure that one out! Also, one American private had regenerating health and single handedly took down hundreds of Germans, while everyone else just died generically, that's WW2, ultra realism right there! Germans just didn't see that coming!

To be honest, I love how they try to visually show the brutal and horrors of war, but bloody hell the sound effects really needs improving. I'm really looking forward to this campaign but one thing that irks me is the fact that they get the M1 Garand reload animation wrong. When you insert a clip you would use your hand to hold the bolt in place so it doesn't slide on your thumb. The bolt automatically goes forward. In here and in all previous trailers he pushes the bolt forward every time. The only time you actually have to push it forward is when you pull the bolt all the way back. Kind of dumb for a developer that prides itself in realism but whatever.

First gameplay vid and the game already looks historically inaccurate. The Big Red One never got a breaktrhough of the seawall that fast. It was the rangers with naval bombardment who did. Feels like I've played this so many times before, its actually tiring the lack of innovation in these shooters, still using a health bar repaired by health kits, still turning the screen red, still showing danger direction indicators, same first person camera view and weapon sway, still desperately trying to replicate band of brothers after all these years....oh and look at those horrible ragdoll physics, and they claimed they were all about authenticity and immersion this year.....smdh

Thapelo I don't recall them using health bars in campaign before. And of course they are gonna keep the danger indicator and red screen. That helps you know when you are close to death and whats shooting you. C'mon almost all games use that

I think Medal of Honor Allied Assault definitely did a better job in the sound department than WWII. And that game is 15 years old, and I remember playing that game when I was 11.

Where is the sound of the Ocean?? I mean they are on the Atlantic!!! WTF??? The only sound I can hear when they are approaching the beach is some Showerhead noise. Really, it sounds like my showerhead. Where is the Oceansound of the Atlantic? "Sledgehammer" WHEEEEEEERE? Seems that they didn't change anything on the sound since the Alpha :-( And the guy playing this in the video is a natural RAMBO, always running into the enemy fire without taking cover :-D

Matthew Klein this is depicting easy red where the bloody first landed.spr is set at dog green so I guess it's kind similar but this doesn't have the same boring 2 bunkers like in spr and older games. I think this is the most realistic dday landing I've seen

as much as i am blown away by the graphics and viewing angle and surrounding sound effect, I can safely say that the character movement could be better. it does not feel like you are walking or crawling instead feels like u r hovering over on something. this little bit of realism could go a long way in my opinion.

Got shot a couple of times on the shingles but still able to advance and clear the bunkers! Must be one of Prof. Xavier’s gifted students. 😉
