I think his first death in Dec 1987 inspired the song “Kickstart My Heart”.
@maninthebox36542 жыл бұрын
@@seanvogt221 that was his second death. His first death was a year before (1986) in London when he overdosed in his dealer's house and after failed attempt of beating him up to get him back to life, he decided to dump Nikki's body in a trash can, and Nikki woke up later in trash. The second time (which you're talking about), was in december 1987 in Slash's girlfriend's apartment when he also overdosed on heroin. He started turning blue, Slash's girlfriend tried to woke him up by pouring water on his face, mouth to mouth and all that, but nothing worked, so they eventually called 911, and in the ambulance he was declared dead on December 23 1987, and even radio already announced it, and Vince heard it. But thanks to paramedics who gave him two whole shots of the adrenaline straight in the heart, he woke up in the hospital! And yes, Kickstart My Heart was in fact inspired by that second death, Nikki said that himself that it is about it, so no need to speculate!

Lol!!! I was a huge Sixx fan (still am) why? He was born in San Jose in 1958... I was born in San Jose in 1968... He moved to Jerome Idaho to live with his grandparents... I moved to Pocatello Idaho to live with my grandparents.. He moved back to California and became Nikii Sixx... I moved back to California and stayed Jeff... Nikki was MY role model, probably not the best one to have but I never bonded with my dad either and pretty much raised myself (out on my own at 16 and never looked back)... 53 now and finally squared away. You might never know exactly what you want but at some point, you've seen it all 3x over and know with 90% accuracy what you DON'T want!!! That takes a ton of pain out of the game. Still love the metal too 🤘

Completely separate of his band, fame, and fortune, he is someone who I would much rather have as a friend, than as an enemy. He really seems like a great friend and is someone who will screw your head on correctly to help you out for you, not for him. Thank you for all the great music Nikki.

I’ve seen Motley live 5 x’s too (Theater, Girls, Feelgood, 94 w/Corabi, and Carnival 05). Of those 5, I can honestly say the Dr Feelgood show was the only one that was amazing. A close 2nd was the Girls, Girls, Girls show. The last time I saw them in 05, I left before the show was over, due to how horrible Vince’s singing was.

In late 1983, as I rounded the corner on my Schwinn bicycle on the way back from an arcade, a friend stood in the driveway of his house which was further up the same street as mine. He sees me, and holds above his head a black album with a red pentagram. I had previously caught a brief glimpse of Crue on USA's 'Night Flight,' when my dad walked in my room and said, "There's a band on TV that kinda looks like KISS."

So.. I've chosen this video to make my comment. I was looking for a more recent one. Something I've arrived at recently and am especially thankful for.. Is that I have got to the point in life where I No longer Idolize this man/Nikki Sixx. Regrettable I spent about half my 30's practically worshipping him.. Putting my all into it. Then calmed down on that a lot about 8 years ago. But.. All those years of thinking the be all end all of him.. And being fanatical about Crue..Wow. Do I get lost time compensation back for any of it. I'm just glad that my eclectic music sense helped me with that.. And that 8 years ago I decided to take a break from Crue as I had been listening to them too much for years on end. The Nikki Sixx story is very interesting.. And I am still partly interested in his interviews. But have heard it all before from him. I think I realized the amount of time I had devoted to Sixx and being fascinated by him.. At least I realize now. I'm just thankful I no longer praise and worship him.
@SahiraSound7 ай бұрын
Not healthy to worship anybody. And it's even worse when you meet them in person. I can appreciate an an artist's talent But that's pretty much where it ends. They're just people and sometimes they can be really fucked up.

So that’s at least 10 years of heroin addiction. And if you really wanna be anal about it he was still an addict between 88-93 just in recovery. So let’s see 15 years of heroin addiction and 2 deaths from overdose. He doesn’t romanticize it, in fact he speaks out directly about how bad addiction in the US is. I'm 61. Raised during the same time as Nikki. My dad was an alcoholic, an abuser, beat my mom so bad my brother was born early and died. My grandparents were the most important part of my up-bringing. I watched my mother go through another physically abusive relationship. At this time it also included abusive behavior to me and my other brother. We never changed our name. Instead, we used who we became to change the definition of our name. Our father was known as an abuser, alcoholic and wife beater, never a father. My brother and I are honorably discharged vets, eased a family and became a sociable and acceptable part of society. We didn't change our name. Just how the name was recognized. Nikki just changed his name to be cool. Used this story to be even cooler. My brother and I maintained our name to make a change. I love Motley. Love their music. But Nikki's reason for the name change is bullshit and self serving.

It’s a shame that so many mothers poison their kids minds about their fathers. This example here is not uncommon. Kids need their fathers as well as their mothers. My kids mother tried to get full custody and bad mouthed me through our divorce. She tried to brainwash our kids to make them believe I was a bad person. I fought her like heck, got 50% custody, and my kids enjoy being with me much more than their mother. The truth always comes out.

I’m glad you found out some reconcilable truth about your dad, although it’s unfortunate that it had to come with the awful aftertaste of finding that “all that pain” you had felt was due to your mom LYING to you about what your dad was really like.

I hear a lot of this! My friends wife left him with his daughter, and he didn't see them for almost 30 years. The daughter was told that her father left and didn't want anything to do with her. He was sitting in his kitchen when he got a call from a girl who said she was his daughter, so he went to the state she lived in, and met her and his granddaughter. On her deathbed, her mom confessed that he never left them, and that she just ran off. They stayed in touch for awhile, but he hasn't heard anything from her in about 8 years.

Nikki is soooo much more than his amazing music. I love his honesty, his life has been such an incredible ride. I'm obviously a huge fan of The Crue but Nikki is an incredible inspiration to me and so many people. When I was a guest at the ha-ha Hilton, beginning my recovery journey, I read The Heroin Diaries and suddenly, I realized I wasn't alone. Just hope Nikki knows how much he inspired me. Happy Mom, wife, sober and successful. #ThankGodForFrankFerranna🙏❤️🌠🌟
