I’ve always questioned how congress was able to have prayer during sessions with a Chaplin it is very clearly unconstitutional but I guess they don’t want to exercise that check of power since they’re all probably religious.

With respect to 1st Amendment rights afforded to corporations, where is the right for a corporation enumerated in the constitution? Moreover, will Artificial General Intelligence be afforded the same rights as a corporation in the future? Or, because it may be claimed to be conscious, will it be afforded God given inalienable rights as a human being?

NOTES: List the Title of each video Helpful Hint: : Sal Khan guides you with the notes, charts, and graphs. Use his notes on screen to add to your own. Watch the videos and draw the graphs and/or take notes from Sal Khan. Write a 2-3 sentence summary about what you have learned about the Bill of Rights and a summary and notes for The First Amendment video. Use each video Link (below). THE BILL OF RIGHTS, freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, redress of grievances. right to bear arms and assemble militias. ban on quartering soldiers in homes. ban on unreasonable search and seizure. right of the accused to a grand jury indictment and due process, ban on double jeopardy, self incrimination, government seizure of property without compensation. right of the accused to speedy and public trial, jury of peers, and assistance of counsel. right of the accused to trial but jury in common law. ban on executive on bail, fines, cruel and unusual punishment. non enumerated rights are retained by the people. - not an exhaustive list rights not delegated to federal government reserved to the states or the people. first ten amendments, individual liberates, warrant, protectors for accused - federal government can only do what we say it can. our experts, erwin chemerinsky dean of berkely law, and michael mcconell director of constitutional law center of stanford law school. why did the farmers choose to protect these rights. in england you needed to have a government license to operate a pringting press. licensing was seen as inconsistent with freedom of speech or freedom of the press. what is freedom of the press, mcconnell: freedom of the press is more important, because speech that can reach many is more dangerous more important than ordinary speech. american revolution was won through the printing press as much with military tactics. chemerinsky, what count as speech? 1st amendment broadly safeguards expression, throuh not absoulutely scotus has been clear freedom of speech is not absolute. unprotected classes of speech incitement, illegal activity obscentity i know it when i see it most of the limitations on speech are based on harm reduction the government can prohibit speech, which incites violence the establishment cause congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion. that also applies to state and local governments. the church of england was the established religion of england. parliament voted on offical church doctrine. the established church taught that three was a religious obligation to obey the king. government may not act with the purpose of advancing or inhibiting religion, even volntary prayer in public schools is prohibited. children will ineviably, feel pressured to particiate. 1st amentment prevents interminging of gov and faith. free exercise of religion the right ot practice your own religion. What i learned from this lesson is. i learned what the amendments were, and what they were and can be used for. and i learned who our excperts are, and what the government can do to us. and what the establishment cause is. congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof or abridging the freedom of speech or the press or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the goverment for redress of grievances.

The separation of church and state was not to stop religion it was to stop the Government from intervening in a persons right to worship.

The separation of church and state is to protect religion from politics and to protect politics from religion. Freedom of speech is NOT ABSLOUTE.

Are laws against polygamy unconstitutional because they prevent Muslims and Fundamentalists Mormons from practicing their religion?
