This imposed conscription on all single men aged between 18 and 41, but exempted the medically unfit, clergymen, teachers and certain classes of industrial worker. Charlie was 41 years old, so right on the limit. Maybe he was still married at the time. Maybe he was exempted because he was an industrial worker. In any case, I guess it's no coincidence the writers picked 1875 as his DOB, possibly to address that point precisely.

There's gonna be a movie, the original plan of a 7th season could only have worked with Helen (RIP). This is why the story line in season 6 often felt so weirdly empty, Polly was supposed to play a big part and they had to rewrite most of it following her departure. One can really feel the gaping hole that she left behind in the show, she undeniably was the second main character after Tommy, it must've been really hard to fill in that hole narratively. But anyway, this is also the reason why the original idea of a full 7th season got dropped and they decided to go with a more compact feature length film to tie in all loose ends.

@@ethanners6605 even though Polly as a character wasn’t present in s6, she was still kind of a key role. The whole rivalry between Michael and Tommy started because of her death. She was the one, who had both under control and since she said "one of you will die", she kinda predicted that there will be nobody, who calms them down. Michael even makes Tommy responsible for her death, so him that explains his anger towards Tommy in s6.

Did they potentially kill a good chunk of the neighbourhood by doing that? I've read about how they eventually had to stop using mustard gas during during WWI because the wind would turn and you'd end up as likely to kill your own troops than your enemy's. Granted they must've used much larger quantities, they still popped a fair number of cans in that scene.

the only thing i found as a plot hole, was what actually happened to jhon kids, I guess we know that his wife took them with her after his death but still, not even a single word about them for so many seasons, plus that based on the fact that they were already born in s1 (the kids from his first woman) and charles shelby is 11 yo in the season 6, they might have been over their teenage years. The deaths of Grace & John hurt me the most in the series, therefore I was so relieved when Arthur cheated death twice. I always hated Michael, he never looked credible to me since day one, so happy Tommy killed him. Why Polly left following Michael’s betrayal ? I wish Polly would have made the decision ( like it wasn’t really one to make ) to stay besides Tommy before her death. I wish Polly & Gold would have lived and stayed happily married and in the family//business. Glad Linda left when she did, and I hope Gina got what she deserved at the end. Why Tommy’s daughter was cursed when he himself warned that the sapphire was cursed when he got rid of it ? And WTF happened with Finn’s loyalty ?? Why introduce Tommy’s new son for a few last ep ? And what did Tommy say to him at the end ? At the end the ones most loyal to Tommy where Arthur, Ada, Charlie, Curly, Johnny, Jeremiah, Isaiah & Frances.

I really wished to see her one last time. I think it symbolises moving on from her death. When he pulls the trigger in the field, it was Tommy’s way of giving up his life for her but u fortunately he survived. So he finally decides to move on and focus on his new family. But it was good to see him sit near her portrait on his worst day and also he kept a lock of her hair and her rings till the end with him.
