That ending moment is so perfect. I think it's so important that we don't hear what the song is because A) it doesn't matter whether it's good or not, all that matters is she's following her passion and is really happy. And B) We've already seen the songs, 4 seasons of them. I like to think that right after the ending she plays the first few notes of 'West Covina', and they can all laugh about how obsessed with Josh she was. Then she probably went on to 'Settle for Me' 'Face your Fears' and 'You Stupid Bitch'. Or maybe she didn't, that what's so great about the ending Another thing I love about this ending exactly where it does is because I think it's that precise moment the title of the show stops becoming relevant. She stops defining herself by her relationships to the men and finally becomes her own person. Even during her speech at the open-mic its still focused on her past obsessions with romantic love. The moment where she sits down to write her own songs is the exact moment she stops being "The Crazy Ex- Girlfriend"

I like your theory a lot. I would have loved to hear her sing “West Covina,” and have each character react to it. But my theory is that Rebecca songs the new theme song “Meet Rebecca.” My reason for this is because Rebecca is figuring out who she is as a person. She is defining herself for her qualities rather than her trauma and her relationships, like you mentioned, as well as becoming her own person.

EVERYONE needs to watch this brilliant, I cannot emphasise this enough, *BRILLIANT* (oh, maybe I could) show. The story line, the character growth, the topics, the stereotypes, the songs, the music, the music parodies and references, the dancing, the costumes, every single detail in this show was thought out and executed perfectly. Rachel is genius and so talented: the whole cast actually is perfect! Every single one of them, ridiculously talented! It's a hell of a joyful and emotional ride. And watching it again is even better because you can see the little details and foreshadowing since day 1. An absolutely outstanding four-season series.

No she has a few lines throughout season 2, possibly season 3 also. “Don’t condescend to me little girl” and “why didn’t that bitch invite me to the wedding” are two of my faves 😂😂 she doesn’t have a lot of lines but she pops up now and again to speak after 2x08, she also has some insults to sling at Maya 😂😂
