My ,Deutsch´ is a little rusty but I think I got most of what you said. If some of the machinery there really is for the building phase already then great but I´ll believe the building started when the situation at Giga 4 is as was at Giga 3 (Shanghai) in February 2019. Hopefully there´ll be no administrative obstacles :)

It is quite a relief that they are doing it this way. You can see them not just straight up levelling the entire area, but actually slowly munching away at the forest area piece by piece to slowly cut it around the exact area they will need. Not to mention Elon Musk‘s promised to plant more than double the amount of trees they cut down.

But as Elon said, he will plant a actual mixed tree forest, not a monoculture in exchange for the wood they are cutting down now, yes. This low grade wood "forest" had been cut anyway. It is ready for harvest, only cleaning of ammunition wasn't in the budget so they allowed it to grow further. Now one has to ask, thousands of new jobs and high-technology import to Germany or keeping a monoculture which will be harvested anyway! Welcome to Germany! #WTF?

Super Video Tesla Kid Grünheide! Bitte weitere Videos auch wenn der gerichtliche Stopp länger anhält (was wir mal nicht hoffen wollen). Was demnächst sehr sehenswert sein sollte ist das was mit den Baumstümpfen und Wurzeln passiert. Bei normaler Ernte von Holz würden diese vermutlich einfach da gelassen werden und würden im Laufe der Zeit von selbst verfaulen. Da ja aber zügig mit dem Bau begonnen werden soll, müssen die ja auch irgendwie entfernt werden. Vielleicht bezieht sich der "Stopp" nur auf das Fällen der Bäume sodass dies auch schon in den nächsten Tagen zu sehen sein wird. Da müssten aller Logik nach gewaltige Mengen an unförmigen Wurzelwerk anfallen wobei die Frage ist was damit gemacht wird. Gruß Helmut

@@rolfrui Das wäre aber wohl sehr zeitaufwendig. Bei Minute um die 2:29 sieht man rechts unten im Bild einen großen gelben Bagger mit einer Schaufel mit langen Zinken dran. Die Frage ist ob das Ding stark genug ist die Baumstümpfe einfach rauszureißen oder ob der nur das kleinere Wurzelwerk drum herum zerupft. ?

Absolutely great footage here. Really good to see someone covering the events happening in Germany now. Especially with things starting to quieten down a little bit in Shanghai now on Gigafactory 3. Look forward to Tesla keeping its promise about planting more than double the amount of trees they cut down in order to start construction. They certainly do seem to be sticking to at least cutting down as fewer trees as possible. You can definitely see that with the way they are slowly cutting around the area they will need and working their way inwards chunk by chunk to lower their overall impact.

There's little doubt that Tesla will stick to its commitments. I would also imagine that they will plant native trees across a diversity of species, so that a natural forest will evolve. Remember... what's there now is not a forest - it is a timber plantation - just one type of tree intended for harvesting - just like how we plant and harvest wheat. These are all pine trees and as such, greatly limit bio-diversity. In effect, it is more detrimental to the natural ecosystem than a benefit. The perceived "negative" effect on the local environment is negligible, and temporary. What will replace it will quickly evolve into a bio-diverse ecosystem that benefits a far wider range of flora and fauna.

@@dirtyblock3894 its all abaut price - germany has some of the most inteligent reserchers and a very good technical education , the problem is the good people get bought up by foreign companys paying them more than they would get in germany, this intelectual braindrain happens since the 1970s now we are at the point that there are to little of the smart people left to teach enough people to negate that braindrain completely in a short time without really massive investment in education but trust me if a compan pays well enough capable people return from saudi arabia and south east asia

It's likely that the "protesting environmentalists" were just stooges for the traditional auto industry, who are quite desperate now in delaying the advent of sustainable transport. Daimler, VW and BMW have yet to make an EV that is as advanced as Tesla, and also at a profit. This new factory is making them panic. The Court has now ruled their petiton invalid, and also said that the decision (of the Court) is final. It cannot be appealed.

Did you happen to see how they got the stumps out? I just one stump at my house and it was a royal pain in the ***. I'm guessing for this many trees a heavy machine just plows them out of the ground.

I still think it is ridiculous to cut trees for the Gigafactory, while a few kilometres away there is a CO2 producing coalpitmine. The mine could have been closed and on its grounds could have been built the first Tesla Energystation (Tesla power plant) or two getting the Energy from the solar fields around it. Then the Gigafactory could have been built next to the powerstations and around that a new forest. That would have been a better Win Win situation for all. More trees to absorbe CO2. Now a forest (even while it was planted for harvesting) is being destroyed and only within 10 to 20 years the forest can absorbe CO2.

Exactly ! But no, no way, they must destroy nature - as always and as everywhere - so nature fights back, now Corona comes happy, and many more viruses will come, no worryes ... As you already see, there is no other solution, if german goverment allows this, than I dont know why there should be any nature protecting, simply cut down all trees everywhere an see what happens ... But sure I hope, Virus will succeed !!! Greetings from Slovenia with 60 % Forest surface !

Super, wenn man den Bau einer solchen Fabrik vom Beginn an mitverfolgen kann. Von der Gigafactory 3 in Shanghai gibt es diese Drohnen-Filme schon seit über einem Jahr und es ist spannend zu sehen in welch rasendem Tempo dort diese Fabrik gebaut wurde und die ersten Autos produziert wurden. In Deutschland wird das wohl eine zähere und längere Geschichte.
