haha. Oh yes. We start our runs with the opening of the big field gates. They all run out fast and run around the whole property and eventually usually I'm the last one running as they guard and find their viewing place.

Great looking pack. Thank you for caring so much for them. We are now living with our third Pyr, a 155lb male, who is definitely a part of our family. Our second Pyr died last June at 12 years old that we had her since she was seven weeks old. These two we bought from families who lived in the woods of the Canadian north. Our first Pyr was adopted when he was three years old and he died when he was 14. From him, we learned that an allergy to chicken is common with many Pyrs so did not give that to any of them, just beef, pork, and deboned fish.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge of great Pyrenees. My first two pyrs were sisters that I got at 8 weeks, and they lived to the teenage years and that was such a privilege to share life with them that long.

Hello from the South! Could you please tell me what you feed your GP? I’m adopting a GP who is 2yo, but I want him to have a long life. My late GP mixed died this summer at 6yo from cancer and I can’t help but think maybe it was his food, but maybe not. Any advice? Thanks! ❤

I'm so sorry to hear that your great pyr died young. Sometimes I think it can just happen and not anything you did. My first great pyrs honestly I just fed Pedigree and they lived to be teenagers with no health issues. Now I feed much better with a variety of food, including raw meat, eggs and more expensive feed. I think daily exercise is good for them all too. Congratulations on your new to be adoption!

@@YourSweetEyes I used to feed mine raw chicken from WalMart. Some wings and 10# bags of leg quarters. I'm old and a bit lame now so I don't get it for them anymore. But we had many different dogs, big to little, they all loved their chicken. As long as it is raw they can digest the bones. Their poop is much cleaner and dryer. They are much healthier. GPs would get a leg quarter, smaller dogs would get a wing or two. They will chew it until it is limber enough to swallow...keeps their teeth clean too.
