Hey guys I’m curious about something, for Destiny 2 players here what parts of it does TFD shamelessly copy, I can see the parts from Warframe clearly I’m curious about the stuff from Destiny?

I’ve played for +550 hours and I can say it does have potential and the devs are listening closely and responding fast, but right now this game is atrocious. There’s 3 top tier descendants and the feel like “why would I use this when I can use these 3”. but even i when you can look past that some of the descendants aren’t even good at what they’re designed to do. I’ve gotten every gun in the game and the ultimate weapons have to be the biggest let down in the game. The guns suffer from the same problem as the descendants where there’s 2-3 guns that far out match every other gun to were it’s like “why use these when I can use this?” and As a Destiny 2 player i expect these ultimate guns to do crazy things but 90% of the ultimate guns just give little stat boosts or debuffs after shooting for a bit or killing a few enemies, that’s about it. The colossals are fun but it comes back the the descendant problem of why use these characters that are cool but suck when I can just obliterate the colossal with the best 3 characters in the game, because what you’re farming the colossal for will most likely not drop first try so you’re gonna have to fight the colossal fight over and over and over again so at some point you’ll want to ditch that weak character for those top 3 to speed up the process.

Im ngl i was skeptical at first with this game and its in-game shop, but after ignoring the shop and i just played the game, it was not terrible. I have given it a chance and put in 200 hours, i have 8 descendants so far and i have enjoyed the grind and it hasnt felt predatory with micro transactions ingame by any means. And to be fair i am giving this game a chance because its still a verry new game compared to what its up against a game that has been out for more than 10 years and has had so much time to grow and progress throughout its lifespan (keep in mind i have several thousand hours on warframe). Not to mention the dev team in this game has been fairly positive on responding to the community and addressing problems. And yes i am aware of the shady business behavior nexon has done. (I am also F2P)

It’s still a ridiculous amount of money to charge for something, but 200$ worth of currency is a big difference (I don’t think TFD offers that I have to double check tho).

For clarification, the colouring system isn't one time use per se; It binds the color to the specific armour set you wish to apply it too. For instance, if I wish to color an armour red, I can apply THAT paint to THAT armour set as many times as I wish and I would only need to repurchase the paint if I want to apply it to another armor set. So you don't have to buy a particular color 6 times for the same armout set. I do agree that warframe's color palette system is significantly better but this is still nevertheless, worth pointing out. However, the introductory system in TFD is much better than Warframe for one significant factor: The clarity of obtaining modules. In Warframe, it isn't explicitly clear how to obtain a particular module with some of the modules - do the modules drop from completing the mission or does it drop from a particular mob? As a new player, it isn't easy creating a build as you simply do not know where to get certain modules. There is an in-game wiki of sorts about how to obtain the modules, but some of the descriptions of how to obtain the module are literally "????" which is extremely jarring. Further complicating module acquisition are the primed versions of certain modules which are only available through the limited-time trader, Baro Kiteer. In TFD, the in-game module finder clearly showcases how to obtain EVERY module be it through the mobs or mission completion. Thus, while warframe does certain things better than TFD, I feel that TFD has a much better start as compared to when Warframe first released and might indeed overtake it given the same 10 year lifespan.

True, and I think the idea that it’s not fair to compare a game that’s been out for 10 years to a new is ludicrous, in 10 years, sure TFD could be better then Warframe and Destiny in every way, but who cares? TFD is very clearly trying to capture that same player base, it shouldn’t matter how long a game has had time to improve, for us consumers it only matter what it is now, there’s nothing wrong with enjoying TFD, we are after all just voicing our opinions. I just think that there’s no reason to play TFD over Warframe and Destiny right now, and that could change in 2 years or more, but that’s irrelevant right now. but hey that’s just my 2 sense.

The combat looks absolutely horrid in it for the style of game. After 6k hours in Warframe and having played since day 1 of Warframe. TFD is in a much better position than Warframe was than when it came out. Warframe had 3 frames,1 map,1 enemy type, and 4 weapons.

One big thing in the video that made me raise an eyebrow with J-Zer03’s assessment was early in the video regarding spells/abilities….as if you actually played the game (40 supposed hours played apparently wasn’t enough), you would know cooldown and duration makes all the difference.

I think you should do a bit more research before jumping to conclusions. Grinding Descendents for example. Ultimate Bunny has some parts that are 3% drops in normal mode, but in hard they jump to 10% or even 20%. I got her in less than 24 hours of starting my grind. Not 24 hours in-game, 24 hours of time passing. I also got Luna and Enzo the next day. Same for Sharen and Freyna. I'm less than 100 hours of play time in mind you and most of that was finishing the story and backtracking to help my friends do the same. As for your talk of microtransactions, you should be aware that they discount the bundles if you grind out the character. The 3,000 bundle for Ultimate Bunny is reduced to 1,000. So $60 to $20. $20 for an outfit is pretty standard among games. A Call of Duty bundle is usually $20 - $25 or even $30. An outfit in another game I play (Black Desert) will run you $34. Plus the drop rates in that game are 0.005% on some items. You seem like you could be a good creator in the future, but I implore you to do more research before jumping on the hate wagon because it's the popular thing to do with these types of games. I was skeptical going in to this game, but I'm having a really fun time with it. P.S. You should keep mentioning Canadian dollars when you mention pricing. Some people may hear $140 and think that's U.S. currency. Which would be insane.

Warframe has a lot of issues so understand im not a super fan of that game either but warframe has procedural generation so you can do the same mission and it'll feel different for a while, tfd normal missions are exactly the same in every way that's why its a lot more repetitive.

Also side note, i give similar points of criticism like this and I got comment saying TFD is prettier than WF, I won’t deny that for all the assets, literally (saryn and wisp are still better but I digress) but WF’s art direction is not only unique but really beautiful if people cared to look at the right places (yes that includes assets) past “my warframe isn’t pretty”. Other than that warframe is a dark sci fi setting ofc things aren’t going to be conventionally pretty that’s the point. wf and d2 had 10 years to get to where they are, but they did it through their own mistakes and all from scratch. All tfd had to do was copy the good parts too, but they didn't want to. It is all there, the lessons were already learnt. It's as if the game was made by people who didn't play looter shooters, they just saw what the other was doing. They don't seem to care about making a good game, they just want money.

I've got like 2000 hours in Destiny 2 and I actually enjoy TFD. Couldn't get into Warframe because it almost felt directionless. TFD kinda reminds me more of Borderlands 2 than Destiny (except the obviously ripped module emblems). I ignored the store and just really liked the feel of the game, the design of weapons, enemies, bosses, and the overall world. Story kinda sucks, but I'm a Destiny player, so I'm kinda used to that.

I'm about 1100 hours into the first descendant and you're right the story is horrible . but the game is fun like a lot of fun you just hang out with some friends on Discord and you blow through some Dungeons and you kill some Colossus 3/4 of the time you can't stop laughing cuz something stupid happened in the game or your friend did something stupid. do you remember when you played games just cuz they were fun . I give you the first descendant and the longer you play the game the bottlenecks just go away. grind out an Ultimate Weapon or two and you won't have to worry about energy activators or Catalyst anymore your big problem after that will be that your cheeks are sore from all the stupid grinning you've been doing . I should warn though that grinding out weapons is a grind and I do mean grind. but it can be a fun one.

They need to make the ultimate weapons where you only have to craft it once,(once is bad enough), then get it to 100 do the rolls you want, mod it then you can use it in game. If they change that I'll come back, which means I probably won't be back lol. Unless they ease up on the mind numbing grind and make all of the colossi where you can do them solo and stop nerfing shit in a pve game this thing won't see it's first anniversary. I see why people that play Warframe don't like it. because like destiny its a long standing franchise at this point. but I like the game for 2 reasons, it fun to play. and what I think is a huge reason ppl like it. it seems to have legs so it will be here for a few years if they don't screw up but its new enough to start now and not be lost under a sea of years worth of updates and added systems. I'm f2p and never played the beta. I started 3 days ago and still have tons of ppl to finish the campaign with in public lobbies. if you're years deep in destiny or Warframe I could see you passing. but if you missed both like me. the game is a ton of fun to relax with and not sweat like in cod, warzone, bf, val, or apex. and like I said its new enough to jump in and not drown in confusion like Warframe and destiny.

I played Destiny 2 for a few weeks and TFD as well but in the end I always end up back in Warframe. I agree with the monetisation and grind in TFD it is way to much and just like in GTAV it is mechanically made to sell you overpriced progression. Warframe is such an honest free to play and even done things like remove monetisations that they knew people were spending too much on like rolling patterns on Kubrows back in the day.

well as a 8 year old warframe player.... i was looking and want to play a game that is like warframe type. but without the over alien theme or space mutant power ... need to be more human characters with high tech armor suit without look like alien atleast . if destiny2 - i give up that game already, year ago from the battlenet free destiny 2 game event and it did not last two week of gameplay because it was block by a paywall dlc. so i got boring with destiny 2 at the end..... I farmed and bulit 3 ult descandants and never went to pick them up and use them cause I got bored of playing a running / loot collecting sim . Also a tip if your gonna continue this game the best option for the sub slot is the mod that reduces the grapple hook cooldown

I disagree and here is my crappy review: I never played warframe or destiny, I don't have that lense myself. Played around 20 hours. If compared to a normal game, this is a medicore game. But I feel like I judge it differently because its a free game and its an mmo. I like the community, I like the customization, I like the characters and the graphics. There is definitely better stuff out there, but for me it hits the sweetspots, I like shooters, sci fy stuff, mmos, customizable guns, rpg elements, abilities, but especially awesome graphics with even better characters to unlock and customize. So even tho objectively the game might be a 6/10, or 7 at best, it hit the right spots for me. It would be an 8 if I couldn't unlock characters for free, and a 7 if the character designs were bad, but as everyone has seen, character design is S tier :D My crappy biased rating is 9/10.

After 100 hours and experiencing the "endgame", I uninstalled TFD. I started noticing all the stitch points of where they sewed together pieces from Destiny and Warframe wholesale. The mechanics that were annoyingly redundant or slightly obtuse suddenly made sense, when looking at them through a lens of what game they just straight ripped it from. Once you get a grasp of what matters in terms of the meta, you start to notice how the systems are just stacked on top of each other-- mod level, mastery level, gear level, character level-- without real consideration for organic interaction or balance. Like what even is the point of character levels, when so much of your stats come from gear and mods that can be equipped at any level? What is the point of weapon proficiency aside from the grind for mastery rank? For me, the game sits right on that intersection of having cut n' pasted so much from two different games, that you're not sure which to call it a clone of. By that merit, I guess it qualifies as its own existence. Having played the games it copies from, a lot of the complaints I had about it were followed by my realization that either game done it better. And when you're so blatantly copying mechanics from other established games, I don't think you get to hide behind the excuse of being "new" for not having figured out things that those games already did. Or perhaps the game is janky on purpose? Maybe it's falling back on the same tactic of those that copied from me in programing classes; copying my code but making it less efficient so as not to be flagged as plagiarism?

Character levels add base stats and scale you well into endgame content (doubt u've done much at 100 hours), weapon proff is the same as warframe, more module capacity = more power, and a mastery system that lets you acces that earlier during your leveling process. People really just wanna complain I see. So many things we're not done first by the games you adore and this game isnt badly put together because u believe it is. Those few points you gave fall incredibly flat and dont support your claim at all. It just makes you sound ignorant on what you're discussing...

And after you acquire lvl 100 gear, new lvl 1 characters can already one shot the basic lvl 100 enemies with their skills; albeit they have to gain a few levels to unlock all their skills.

Please don’t let this video keep you from playing this game. For a free game it’s incredible in my opinion. It has enough grind to keep you going. Everything and I mean all items including the paints and ultimates are obtained free from gameplay. There are a few skins locked behind a pay wall, buts that’s okay they definitely deserve some money for this game. The devs actually responded to the community. They fix issues properly and respect our time as well. For example When they realized we would spend hours and hours trying to do the k exploit to be able to upgrade modules they made it to were all similar spots drop the same amount instead of fixing it and they are pushing up the content for us as well. Safe to say they listen and respect our time unlike almost all others I’ve ever seen. Just my opinion! Edit They are bringing in a trade system!

Everything you said in this video is exactly why i uninstalled the game after 60 hours ish. Especially The "in order to get A, you need B, to get B you need C, to get C you need D, to get D you need F and dont forget you need have higher DPS or certain descendants that you need to grind first that requires material ABCDEF (back to the top stupid grind mechanic)" Grind Mechanic. Destiny isn't holy grail but man at least destiny didn't make feel burnt out for first 100 hours.

The colouring thing would be a really good way to put something else to reward players in a grind game, but i´d either disable the option to buy it, or let be a pack of 10 tints for like, 50 pennies. There are chroma´s sold in other games just to change the colour for one character, i don´t think the system is that dumb, idk about how much or if you get any of those colours ingame.

TFD really is kinda like Warframe. But predatory. And a tiny bit more thirsty. Just a bit. 'Cause let's face it... Ember Heirloom is competing for that 3rd Person Rear of the Year. We all know DE is as thirsty as the player-base. Jokes aside, I honestly enjoyed TFD. Started with Viessa, then I got Bunny, then Valby, Sharen, and Freyna. Was trying to get Ultimate Bunny and Ajax but ultimately... TFD just faded into the background for me. When I noticed how long it has been since I last hit play, I just clicked uninstall instead. Didn't care about the story enough and the grind for some of the Descendants is horrendous. Those side-missions where stealth is encouraged is extra annoying to me since only Sharen can stealth. I legit grinded Sharen only for that. Why is stealth even a thing? There's not even a crouch button in the game and no stealth kill options.

I put 80 hours into this game. Farmed 2 weeks for Enzo’s code and never got it. Decided to give warframe a try and after 20 hours I deleted the first descendant. Sorry but it shouldn’t take 2 weeks to get a 38% drop. That’s if I even get the 50% amorphous drop. No thanks. Warframe is way better and I’m a warframe noob

Nice video, the most important thing is how Magnun studios responds to the community in efficient timing. Destiny is looking bleak and warframe will be the major competitor, so this game has the chance to do a lot of things really well since it's new. Time will tell, and Nexon has been heavy on keeping the playerbase happy with hotfix after hotfix.

It probably is underwhelming. I like the game for what is. I did have problems for the first few days I have 200 hrs myself I beat all the content. I don't play it for bunny content. I do think they need melee weapons. I think it has potential so far. I keep trying to play warframe I just cannot get into it.

Hard mode gives higher chances of drops for ults. Ive gotten two in a week but grind slowed so i could work on my builds. 😅 good video with detail, lot of things ive over looked. Im super basic and easy to please in gaming tho also helps a lot this is my first looter shooter since outriders so im loving it 😂

Ok so the color situation must have been updated? Because I’ve been playing for a little over a week and I can put the color I bought or unlocked on any piece of gear for that specific character (I haven’t bought outfits for any other descendants except Kyle). I still don’t agree with having to BUY a costume just to customize my colors. I should be able to color the default outfit just like the paid skins. The story is rough (I’m still trying to get through it) they just haven’t made me care about what’s happening or who it’s Happening to. All in all the game is mid but fun in spurts imo but it won’t be competing with warframe for my time, it’s just not even close lol I wouldn’t even call it a wish version yet.
