He was a gun-nut and hunted only small game. I use to win turkey shoots upstate NY when I was 6-7 shooting .22's. I grew up shooting .22's, pellet guns, shotguns, and a 30-06 (only a couple times before he sold it). I think expert gun safety is the best skill to have.
