The Indians didn't treat the Whites any differently than they did each other. Probably why twice as many Whites died in the Indian Wars as Indians. Of course the Indians referred to all the non-Indians as "White Men". Thus - an African-American was referred to by the Indians as a "Black White Man" ... .

It’s the plain ones that always get me.All my favorite lines in Seth’s work are this kind of thing, nothing but casual conversation. The Orville is full of this; a lot of it is has no drama, no punchline, no out of character stupidity or misunderstandings, just the casual awkwardness of people interacting with each other, written and delivered in the funniest way possible. It’s so refreshing to see sci-fi that doesn’t take itself too seriously but isn’t just a goofball parody either. It’s genuinely the most human sci-fi series I’ve ever seen.

This film got so much flack and I don't know why. "Oh it's got no substance, no underlying theme, it's just cheap laughs". Not every film is made with the intent that it'll be a masterpiece, it's the equivalent of some high class food critic walking into a McDonald's and writing a scathing review about the standard of food. Sometimes I feel like a bit of "trashy" laughs, and that's all this film was ever meant to be. And as far as those go, it's a masterpiece.
