when i was exploring the nexus worlds i was amazed at how little some of these worlds have changed. then there's toy world, such a cool world i was about to give up on finding. thank god i figured out debug mode

2kki really has come this far… with more than 50 developers (both core and associate) working on this game, and hundreds of worlds being implemented. it only all started with a single developer, and then eventually more people came to collaborate. although it was simple at the start, it slowly became more complex. here we are, in 2023, and yet this 16 year old game is still receiving updates, but the quality of the modern worlds has improved so much compared to the early worlds. now, i want to be part of the 2kki development team. i’ve been working on my world for a while now, so thats nice.

while i was looking at the changelogs i was surprised at how much was added from when i started playing in around 2019. i hope it continues to grow for many years!

@@purekosu Yeh yeh they indeed added a lot of new stuff in the past 5 years. Especially comparing to the years before that. I started playing sometime in late 2014, but back then updates were usually just bug patches. With maybe a couple new worlds every blue moon. Tbh there's a fair "new" worlds I still have yet to see (any world with a map ID over 1000)

5:10 - That is indeed stock RPGMaker BGM! It's from RPGMaker2000, and it was most notably used as the title theme for the game Space Funeral (which I recommend btw it's very fun)

certainly has to be said. the lost and changed worlds are some of the most interesting things i've seen related to 2kki yet. i might have said this before but i really am stuck on how much toy world has changed, i find it super cool as it's one of my fav worlds

Hey quick question: How are your files for these early versions so clean? when i try to run them in my easyrpg locale there's a lot of missing files and whatnot. I downloaded the old versions directly from the wiki but it seems like they don't work on my pc. I even tried updating my EasyRPG too lol I'm not really expecting tech support from you or anything, but I would be interested to hear your process so i can see if i went wrong somewhere lmao Nice vid btw, these are some of the only looks at early 2kki available on KZbin and I really appreciate them ^_^

@@tobee_verr hi sorry for the late reply, I recall the same issue being fixed when I switched my system locale itself to Japanese, some files are unreadable in the English locale and have broken text. If you still have this problem while you have Japanese locale then just reinstall/unzip your 2kki

16:05 this is Red Black World, made by 710. It later became Droplets World (18:26), Onyx Tile World, and finally Purple World. Red Black was moved from the nexus to Character World (17:17) before removal, and Onyx Tile is of course now accessible from Purple World

it is possible to play on your phone, a LOT of people do. just go to the website on your phones browser, i've had it work with google chrome on my phone. if u mean the older version then, yeah i'm not sure but i still have seen people play the singleplayer client on their phone somehow haha
