That first cash in was so insane. Everybody just thought Edge would set up a match for the next ppv, but Edge making that match right then and there was an incredible thing. It really set the precedent for how important that briefcase/contract was. It’s one of the greatest and most important moments in modern wrestling and created one of the best gimmicks in history.

I think during "Talk is Jericho" with Edge, during the pitch for the MITB match, Edge wanted nothing to do with it. I forget why, but he seemed burned out about a Ladder Match and said "If that's what you have for me, don't put me on, I'll make sure to get on next year", and Chris Jericho said "Shut up Dummy, you're winning this thing."

Can you blame Edge? The guy was essentially pidgeonholed into being a tag team only wrestler because he and Christian were so good and that has a VERY low ceiling. Then they broke through with those crazy ladder matches with the Hardys, Dudleys etc and then ladder matches became a gimmick matches being done over and over again so Edge and Co. hit another plateau. So then when he finally goes solo and starts to gain some speed on his hype train, being thrown back into a gimmicky ladder match nobody knew would pop off probably didnt sit well with him

Man wrestlemania 21 was great, it was the the passing of the torch to Cena & Batista, Michaels vs Angle was amazing, the first money in the bank, Undertaker vs Orton, Stone Cold had his moment with Piper. It really had everything.

So many good matches have been ignored because of his actions: the triple threat at wm20, angle vs benoit, eddie vs benoit, no mercy 02' tag match, TLC 3 etc. Benoit didn't just kill his family, he killed his legacy.

He was partial a victim of the wrestling lifestyle and negligence from his employer when it came to concussion. I don't want to defend his final actions but can't they show the matches with like a warning "we distance us from Chris Benoit actions as a person" If not for Chris Benoit then for his son who is also being a wrestler....

In 2010 the Money in the Bank Ladder Match went from being a WrestleMania card to becoming it's own WWE PPV Event with Kane winning the SmackDown Money in the Bank Ladder Match and cash in on the same night against Rey Mysterio Jr to win the WWE Heavyweight Championship and also the Miz winning Raw Money in the Bank Ladder Match,then 4 months the Miz cash in his Money in the Bank Briefcase against Randy Orton to win the WWE Championship on a episode of Monday Night Raw on November 22. After Orton wrestle against Wade Barrett also give us the angry WWE fan girl face look.
