Keep going at it, I ranked silver when I first started playing but early on I got hard stuck in gold for the longest time then moved on to play a lot of mystery heroes and got a lot of experience from it. Now I’m bouncing between gm 2 and gm1. Be comfortable on at least 3 heroes in each class and you should rank up.

This is the best unranked to GM because it is an actual climb, he is genuinely learning the hero and climbing as his skill level and the power of the hero in general improves, there was also mystery around whether or not he would be able to complete it.

This is why elo hell is real tbh. It doesn't matter if you improved tons after playing for years. if you placed like gold- plat during the early years of you playing overwatch, even if you improved a ton later on, if your account was decided as a "plat account", it's really hard to let the system know that you've now improved and deserves a higher rank. Unless ofc you play a hero that has a ton of impact every game and your improvement is as great as being a GM player in a plat lobby. if your improvement is only like maybe high diamond or low masters, you'll have a hard time climbing to that rank without having a fresh account.

@@Dartnitt Nothing there implies "its not my fault" nor was this me coping on my rank. I know i deserve the rank i have. Doesn't make what i said any less true though. that's just how the overwatch mmr system works. I know i deserve the rank on my main account but my alt account is higher and placed there easily because the unstable mmr for a fresh account placed me higher with easy wins and i stayed there because the average overwatch experience for players at every rank is you win some you lose some. So people stay around the same rank that they stabilized on when the system decided that X is your rank. This is also from the POV of a non hardcore player. Someone who cant grind ranked all the time and only play it casually. If you play any hero with carry potential and sink a lot of time into ranked then you can climb to your real rank for sure. i completely agree.

This kinda reminds me of one guys Unranked Genji to GM where he tried to get his Genji there. Teammates telling him to switch or leaving the game because he had Genji. I honestly don't mind the Unranked "insert character" to GM vids. Some are made by very great teachers who actually explain what they learned. It basically depends on if the person is actually good at teaching and explanations. You could be an absolute genius in anything on planet earth but your knowledge would be worthless to everyone else cause you cannot put any of it into words. Some people are just way better at explaining things but definitely not everyone lmfao. Honestly the video was extremely interesting to me cause I actually love playing Lifeweaver lol. I play him quite frequently. Though Bogurs video isn't as informative about the character itself as the guy I watch do other Unranked to GMs, Bogurs vid however does talk about ranking in general and that's something that is kinda nice to learn and understand. I will admit I have a small % of prejudice against ball & doom players because I'm metal rank and I've had some rooough experiences with said characters, but I never assume every player is bad on their pick and I'd never throw even if my teammate is ass. I don't understand the mentality of "Oh our tank/dps/support isn't playing as a OWL player so I will throw this game and go next" It just literally don't make sense to me. I might just go "Oh no we have a doom" for myself but I would never even tell them on VC to swap because they might just really enjoy that character and be really good at it. It's just the skillgap on said character that makes it a scary pick in my ranks because I'm an ass gold 1 player and usually people in same rank doesn't have the best idea how to play around a pick. I've been playing since 2016 and I feel I've gotten better... Started off on xbox because controllers felt more personal than mouse and keyboard. My rank started off in high silver in 2016 I didn't play comp a WHOLE lot but I managed to make it to Gold on all roles. Then overwatch 2 dropped and I placed bronze 5 in all roles for some reason... Im not the best player by any means, but I do feel that the way my team plays dictates how I play...I feel like I could match plat-diamond 2 players energy with comms and from there work my way up into mid masters. I don't currently see gm in my future but it's frustrating being stuck in a rank where people get triggered at everything and have no awareness, positioning, peel or synergy.

The best thing about lifeweaver right now is he has a decent ult and he is hard to kill if he has his cooldowns. What happened to Bogur at 7:30 is why people say elo hell exists. People constantly leaving and throwing games that are either completely winnable or at times literally just started. Ik higher ranks have to deal with people who leave as well but from what I’ve seen and heard that’s mostly because someone dcs and not because they throw. I can’t speak for diamond and above but as a plat player I encounter at least one leaver or someone who throws every 30-40 games I play. This type of thing happens more often than people think lol

I’m a big lifeweaver fan. And while yes he was absolute trash on release. I don’t think he’s a horrible support anymore. But I don’t think they can still make a few changes. I would like to see Thorn damage spread removed all together, increased projectile speed, and maybe a slight increase to damage. If they improve his damage potential. Then they can maybe lower heal blossom max charge to 70. And finally I’d alter his health pool some. Either keep 225 Hp but all health, remove the 50 shield Hp. Or if they keep 50 shield Hp, lower health back to 200 (150hp50shield)

"LIfeweaver is actually really good." No, he ain't. He's a functionally dependent support that is only capable of *pushing others* to win. But if the others are bad, all you're doing is multiplying by zero. Until they fundamentally shift his kit to have more carry potential he's always gonna be a shitty healbot support in a world where damage is everything. I love his utility, though, I won't lie.
