Hire a sign painter and have them paint "This trailer is stolen" on the side, (of your trailer) but with the word "is" crossed out and "was" added. That way, no one will steal it again. I am happy you got it back. Had to pause and regain our composure when you described the perps taking a zillion cups, but leaving the box. Classic perp logic.

Good to hear you got the trailer back. Cops Usually don't bother fingerprinting on smaller cases. When my truck was broken into and my CD binder stolen they just handed me the report. Renters insurance covered it to a point. Put Satellite radio in after that

I would be willing to bet that if you put the word out to local moms groups on fb you’d find some kick ass moms who would work their asses off for a 2 week paycheck. Hell you could sweeten the deal by giving them time to shop before the sale starts for everyday they work. Especially with all that Melissa and Doug stuff you had. Same with the tools. Call your local tech school and see if there are some auto tech kids who would work the sale for the opportunity to shop first. Just an idea. Thanks for bringing the sale videos back! Senior Citizens are the best folks to get who are reliable and trustworthy to do temp work who aren't looking for full time work. Auction companies use them all the time. Less likely they are looking where you're posting for help wanted. Consider contacting management at 55+ apartment/condo complexes to post a flyer and contact senior centers as well. You most likely have a 55+ non-profit employment type agency as well if they aren't integrated with the senior center.

Congrats on a successful sale!!! Well done! You work so hard! Have you tried going to a local school and posting up an ad for casual help? Parents love to work from 10-2 when kids are at school and can often be available eves and weekends when the other half (or other family members) is around. I had a business where I mostly parents either part-time or casual and it worked well.

Can those special items (if opened turn worthless) be put behind the counter on the wall? Also in the future can you put those tracker tiles in your trailer? They are the ones you can put in your luggage when you fly so if they lose it you can track its’ location by your phone? Just a thought.

Looks like you ve had a fantastic sale, I can’t believe no one offered to buy all the underwater before the sale,I would of paid $3 a unit which would of nearly paid for the first truck load,they sell for $18 to $22, per unit, maybe have a look at a couple of older people to load the tables of a night maybe with someone you trust till you get to trust them,would of put so much more out and given you a few more hours of rest, make sure you rest John, you need a good number two, if you worked out roughly table plans and they could follow, maybe in the new warehouse as it’s bigger, maybe ware house sales monthly or bi monthly, rest don’t get sick John, looking a bit worn out towards the end,keep well love the videos

We put a sign out saying "Due to Change shortage we round to nearest dollar". Only time change came into play was tax. So 50 cents or less we rounded down 51cents and up we rounded up to a dollar. No one complained.

Also, yes get mad at the customers. Some of them are complete pieces of shit. I let them know it if they pull some stupid stunt. But again with the signs. We have "Do NOT open new packages". I sell a lot of tools, and you won't believe the amount of stories i get of "yeah my last one got stolen out of my locked truck". Still sorry this happened to you bud. Seems you have bad luck with stuff being stolen.

You should see if there are any staffing agencies/or gig apps you could hire workers from. Like event staff. Personally I use an app available in my city called blue crew to find temp jobs. Evedy once in a while there are 1 or 2 day "even staff" jobs available.

On your dilemma about trying to find people who can work for two week spurts or something like that, see if your local disability office has a work referral program. IDK about your state but here people are allowed to make up to x dollars a month before they loose their benefits. Most people I know are on it cause medication costs suck but really want to get out of the house and do something (especially with a pandemic). And having a small spurt of work and having their own money that they made might be worth their while.

I'd find it so hard to not say "hey are you gonna buy that?" when people start tearing into things. It's totally understandable that it irritates you sure they might be buying things but they're not buying that stuff they trashed. I'm shocked some contractor or landlord didn't catch wind of those $10 light fixtures and come wipe you out day 1. Be totally worth it for a house flip, apartment renovations, etc.

People get upset about you saying people are trash. Yet you happen to pick up a box with a item stolen from it. People are garbage especially if a situation like a sale happening definitely going to get a few thieves ( unless the item happened to fall out before being set on the table but doubtful). People don’t care most of the time which the problem. Sounds like some good stuff sale wise though. Also had a thought if you’re able to move the little island thing that the register that you keep the carts by was moveable. Why not put it along the same wall as the other register since you mentioned a few videos back you worried about too much congestion at the door.
