man the HDCP is off ! that means you can't watch DRM Content like Netflix and Disney+ etc... i think this device creates issues with HDCP or did you turn it off by yourself for game capture stuff ?

Does this adapter support HDCP? I've seen that at 1:51 your HDCP setting was off. Can it make problems with cutscenes or copyright content? (Netflix etc)

Couldn’t have asked this question better myself. Does it trick your 2.0 hdmi tv/monitor into thinking it has 2.1 hdmi ports with all the benefits or is it just a splitter thing. If this guy already has 2.1 ports it’s clearly for people who already have 2.1 ports and you can just add an extra 2.1 hdmi lead on this device to change from one or the other whilst still getting 8k benefits or am I missing something here? 😂

Strange question maybe, but can you try to connect a source to the output and connect the 2 inputs to 2 screens? I know it isn't a splitter, but I only need one screen working at a time. That would be the ideal solution to connecting a 4k 120Hz tv and PSVR at the same time. Edit: just read the comment asking the same. But did you actually try it? I know according to the manual it won't work, but it may work since it is a very simple switch just passing through the signal (just one screen at a time of course).

Not really, as the signal will downgrade to the lowest spec in the chain, which in this case would be your TV at 2.0

Hello. What if my uhd tv doesnt have a 2.1 hdmi port. Would this make a 2.0 to 2.1 automatically. I dont understand. Do i have to buy a tv that supports 2.1 hdmi or is there such thing as a device that can change a 2.0 to 2.1 by connecting the device. Let me know. Im not so familiar with these things.

you still need to connect the switcher to your tv, so you do at least need 1 hmdi 2.1 port on your tv for it to use the 2.1 features

No, this will not upscale in any way. This is only a switch allowing you to consolidate inputs.

optical is becoming fairly useless. tops out at 5.1 and cant carry higher bitrate streams either. I couldnt believe it, so now its eARC since my amp only does 4k60 and the tv will do 4k120. i honestly thought we'd update optical by now so everyone can split the audio and video easier, but it seems selling new hdmi cables is too profitable.

It will work but won’t help since it will simply just work as a switch and can’t make things run at the desired 120hz if your monitor does not support it.

It does not switch to game mode but yes a very short black screen when it switches from 60hz to 120hz (example - Destiny 2 in crucible mode)

Better than nothing I suppose. Glad they have something like this now. With the Sony X900H you just get 2 ports at HDMI 2.1 (ports 3 and 4) and port 3 is your eARC port, so you’re really stuck with just one for 4K 120Hz use if you want to connect your eARC AVR to port 3, so any type of switching will give you more than what you have now.
